Hi George,

Helga is a German name (very popular from 1925 to 1940).
Heigi; well, you probably mean Heidi (popular around 1940) originally a nickname for Heidrun, Heidemarie, Heidelinde and Adelheid
Rutogar; one of the old forms of Rüdiger is Rutgar. It'd be very unusual for 1900 though; it was more common from 900 to 1700. (you may still find "Rutger" in the Netherlands though) Around 1900 men had names like Wilhelm, Karl, Heinrich, Paul, Otto etc.

greetings,
Vagabound

This is very interesting. Even though I've never been to Germany, I have a strong connection to there. I've been learning Spanish and I pick up on language quickly but all of a sudden, I wanted to learn German.

I started buying audiobooks and downloading German podcasts on my iPod and I am picking up on the language much quicker than I am with Spanish.

It could be because English is a Germanic language like German but it's very easy to me.

I think I have very strong ties to Europe period. Its almost like I have this feeling that I could go over to London, Paris, and Berlin, and walk around there, and know EXACTLY where I'm going.

Once you've discovered you like a foreign language, it's beautiful to learn it. I had this with English. It's better for song lyrics than German I find, as German is more harsh from the consonants and the way they're spoken.

Viel Spass,
Spooky
