The Conversation Board's Earliest Posts
Apr 10th, 2019 at 3:04pm

We came across some REALLY old posts that I thought would be fun to share with everyone.  I asked Allan our IT guy if there was a way to find the oldest posts of Bruce’s on the forum.  Our current search function, which allows for 2,000 posts, was only showing me 576 for Bruce.  I knew there were more, and I especially wanted to be able to see what Bruce’s posts were in the early days of the forum.  Allan did some digging and surprised me with this:

https://web.archive.org/web/19980514023217/http://afterlife-knowledge.com/wwwboa...

Some of you may remember the big crash around 2004.  Allan had to rebuild the site and restore what he could and he upgraded us to the site we have now.  This link to the Wayback Machine has archived posts from 1997 to 2004.  How cool is that?  I hope you are as excited as I am about it.  I joined in 2005 so these are all new to me.  I think there’s some valuable and inspiring stuff here for those of you interested in Retrievals, or learning more about Bruce’s Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook material, or just getting to see Bruce's early posts.

I’m hoping that you’ll like reading these old threads from the forum’s very beginnings.  Enjoy!   Smiley

Please note that there's a slide bar at the top of page of that link which allows you to choose which month and year you want to view.  When you play with it you'll see that after 2004  you get redirected to an older version of how the site looks now.

I found a couple posts of mine way back in August 2000. Slide bar hard to navigate using my smartphone, will see if laptop works better.

Ha ha, yes you do!

I can hardly do a thing on my "smart" phone, LOL.  The navigation on the Wayback Machine site does leave a lot to be desired but it's also a good test for our dexterity and eyesight skills  Wink.

How far back were you a member here?  Were you here from the very beginning?  Care to share any fun facts or memories from back then?  Was Bruce posting frequently?  Do you remember the chat room he used to have?  I can't remember what timeframe that was but I do remember he had one.  I'll have to re-navigate our current site to refresh my memory.  There are quite a lot of neat little things stored here.

I recall the chat room and participated a few times. I think Rosalie might have coordinated them. After a time Bruce reduced his own involvement, not sure why.

The forum was pretty active in the early years. Bruce did post frequently and was very accessible including email communications. As his interests expanded, he became involved with EVP experimentations and later was attempting to develop a system whereby we could communicate with the deceased via an instrument similar to a conventional telephone.

The two things I remember from Bruce's teaching were that retrievals can be a technique to pave the way for further explorations of the afterlife and that retrievals are much easier to accomplish than most people think (also that most deceased people don't need them).

He stressed the importance of verifications. The afterlife is full of deceptions just as is the physical life. I think Bruce also cautioned against using the ouija board for much the same reason.

Yep, I remember Bruce’s ADC device.  He called it the Grandpa Project.  I don’t know how far he ever came with it.  But I remember visiting him at his home in Florida in July 2010 and we were playing with it.  Here is what I wrote about it in my journal from that trip:

When we were finally getting to try the Grandpa project, Thursday night, he put it on my finger and we all sat waiting and talking for about 30-40 minutes with nothing happening.  At one point I joked and said, "Well nothing's happening.  Hey you guys, now's your chance to show us you're here.  Do something!"  Then I said to Bruce, "Maybe we should just stop since no one wants to talk."  And just then the power in the house went out for a second and came back on.  Bruce and I went, "Ohhh!  That was a little creepy!"  Bruce said, "If that was you, then do it again".  Nothing happened, but it was neat.  Bruce said it was really good timing and couldn't have been more perfect.  Pharon didn't seem real convinced it was from a spirit.  We weren't sure, but it was pretty cool.
