Worrying about 2012 earth changes and other things
Nov 5th, 2012 at 3:41am

I admit I have heard a lot of the brouhaha on 2012 earth changes and I want to know everyones thoughts on those. We're getting closer and closer to December 21. Some things such as a new age of enlightenment sound good. The notion that everyone will be compelled to seek out higher levels of consciousness and become closer to enlightenment is something about them I like, but the parts about a lot of natural disasters or that other stuff worries me a bit. I'm sure by now that things like Planet X, massive solar flares causing major problems and geomagnetic reversals doing anything other than flipping compasses around are just rumors with no credibility. I worry that one of these natural disasters though might either take me out before I have a chance to do anything in life I really wanted to or destroy all the tools I utilize to pursue those outlets, or take out a lot of people I love and care about and leave me in the dark. To make matters worse, I live in the California SF Bay area, in the East Bay near the Hayward fault but not directly on it, and not within a landslide path. My father has not done anything about completing the seismic retrofits on the house, saying that he is unsure the big one supposedly due 15 years from now will come because of how long they've predicted it and nothing has happened short of a few burps and spits from the fault itself, so if this 2012 thing has some credibility we might not be prepared for it. Plus having lost my best friend has put me in a bit of a funk but the thought that he may find, if he has not already found Focus 27 is of some reassurance, and since he lost his grandfather that he was close to a few years ago he might have had some way of getting there a little more easily, providing the deceased can perform retrievals themselves or if his grandfather decided to become a helper. But worrying about all this makes me wonder if I'm even wasting time and energy working on stuff if it won't see its way into fruition. It makes me wonder if things are futile. I also worry that my depression and suicidal urges might kick into full gear and I might do it and then I'll have trouble finding my way into F27 because I'll think I'm still alive or be really mad when I find out that no doomsday scenarios actually occurred or would and I still had a lot left to do that can no longer be done, or that whatever triggered the depression that caused me to do it would be something that would have fixed itself in a matter of months, and then I'd find out about it and be aggravated that I did not see that coming. Any thoughts on this?

Hi David. Those are a lot of thoughts/worries to navigate through, aren't they? In this age of "information overload" we are exposed to so many ideas and possible scenarios that it can make a person dizzy.

But, these are the kinds of worries and thoughts that have occupied people since the dawn of time. Picking our way through these issues can develop our character, can help us to figure out what we most value in life, to a certain extent. Beyond that, such thoughts can simply paralyze us and keep us from experiencing our true freedom.

So, it is sometimes helpful to picture the big bag of worries that you are carrying as something which you can just as easily release. Just let it go and put it on the ground. You can pick it back up later, if you want to do that. But, you may find that freedom is a wonderful feeling.

We each have this day to do what is important to us on this day, to feel what is important to us on this day. I like to stay in this day.

I tell myself, "I am safe, I am safe now," repeating this thought to myself. I tell myself, "I am enough, I am enough for now," repeating this thought as well. I tell myself, "my best is good enough, the best I can do is good enough," repeating this thought when I hear myself doubting if I am "enough" for what is ahead.

People have often thought, through history, that there must be a "significant" reason that "bad" things happen to them, and that they could ward off "bad" things by being more "acceptable" in some way. I have come to believe that it is just this simple: things happen.

But we always have the choice to be ourselves in any situation. And we will be ourselves, no matter what. We may receive help, or we may not. But our uniqueness, the "specialness" of who we are as individuals, cannot be destroyed, I believe, by anything that "happens" in this life or the next.

Others may have a different point of view. And that's wonderful, really. A world of identical "humans" would be...hmmmn...I don't know.

I'm sorry you lost your friend recently, but happy that you are exploring a way to realize his existence in other ways. And it's great that you are practicing feeling love, as you mentioned in your other thread. Bruce says love and fear cannot exist at the same time, and it's true.

Sometimes fear seems useful. It may keep us from running into the street and getting run over by a car. But, sometimes, it's the thing that is out of control in our lives.

Well, I didn't mean to write this much. But I like the idea of the bags we all carry with us. Why are we carrying them? Do we really love the "stuff" we are carrying? If not, I think it's perfectly okay to just lay that "stuff" down and go on our way.

Life is kind of like a big "scary" dream sometimes. And I think we are drawn to the "scary" "exciting" things around us. We watch others encounter dangers, and perhaps it causes us to feel a bit safer. After all, they are the ones facing danger, and while they are doing it, that must mean we aren't. That must mean we are "safe" for now. Even in dreams we put ourselves in "scary" situations, practice runs for "whatever". While we're snug in our beds. It's part of our makeup.

But, like I said, this is our day. We've got this day, so what is really important to us, today?

David-

We no doubt have more of a chance of being hit by the Goodyear blimp than by any of the so-called 2012 changes.  Or by being hit by a falling chunk of a meteorite.

So, here's the real issue: Forget about 2012.  From reading your post, that's not the problem.  You have been through some major life traumas and even if you had an iron-clad guarantee that you would live to be 100, that wouldn't solve the problems you are now facing in your life.

Losing a close friend or a spouse and especially a child is a tough thing to deal with.  But please don't let the idea of 2012 changes stop you from getting on with your life and pursuing those things you want to do.

People in their 70s/80s take up new endeavors and they KNOW their time is limited.

Above all, ask yourself this question- "am I putting off pursuing my goals because I believe it'll all be wiped out by a disaster of some kind, OR am I letting the idea of an impending disaster give me an excuse not to pick myself up and get busy doing the things I want to do"?

Try the old swiss cheese approach.  Poke a small hole in one of your goals.  Pick up one of your tools and do something modest with it.  Then do it again.

You are letting yourself become overwhelmed with barriers, both real and imagined.  Start poking holes in those barriers and before you know it, they will be smaller and smaller and finally disappear altogether.

Thanks for the responses. They have definitely been helpful.

Isee: I definitely needed that type of message and approach. I have OCD so I tend to get stuck on these metal loops. I am trying to do more affirmations or to even use some energy channeling exercises and then imagining a bubble of protective energy surrounding me. Sometimes things like that actually seem to help, or maybe they actually do that I'm not aware of.

Rondele: I like the humor and the advice! I definitely do that as far as taking small nibbles out of goals. I don't know. I guess I'm a bit of a dreamer. I have big ideas, but like everything all of them have to start out with single steps.

Hey Albert. Thanks for the read. It was helpful. I am sensing an awakening to higher consciousness in more and more people that I know gradually. I think that does resonate with some of what you've written about.

You're welcome. It's good that you're sensing what you're sensing. Smiley

I believe the Mayan Calendar/2012 issue has been misinterpreted.

The fact that the earth is still turning and filled with people and animals means nothing.

Nothing.

The Maya view this as the beginning of the 14th baktun. It could very well be "the beginning of the end."

Or it could point to new human evolution.

I have no doubt that the Maya-as well as other civilations and groups-knew a great deal more than we "educated" Westerners know.

There was no single December 21st. Our perception of time is based on the motion of the earth in relation to the sun.

A clock/calendar in Los Angeles will represent midnight at a different time than one in London. There was never any "event" predicted for 12:01am on the 21st.

Celestial movements are motions. Just as in astrological observations and interpretations, it is the general movement and proximities that are important.

We may very well be in for a cataclysmic upheaval. It may have just started...

I downloaded several tape sessions from TMI last night. Some describe pending catastrophes. I haven't listened to those particular recordings yet, but I will in the next few days.

It is important to understand that the earth itself (herself?) may be pivotal in the change.

We humans have done a lot of damage to our planet in the decades since Monroe began his OBE work. The planet may be angry with us.

The Toltecs state that the earth is a living being. A living being. That the earth has its own "luminous cocoon" and its own awareness.

Merilyn Tunneshende wrote, in "Don Juan and the Art of Sexual Energy" that the earth is unhappy with us and may be "sharpening her claws."

TMI content describes that the earth is or was (at the time the recording sessions occurred) in the 4th of 7 evolutions.

Is the 4th or 5th evolution associated with the baktun cycles? I don't know.

Here are some things I am convinced of:

The celestial bodies aren't simply the result of accretian and collision. There is some celestial machinery in place and at work.

You can actually feel something from the moon, at times. I have experienced a bond or communique from Luna once, perhaps twice.

I really can't explain it in words. It was an immediate "knowing."

I stood on a cool night in the woods with no light pollution to intrude upon the setting.

The full moon suddenly had a presence and forcefulness impossible from a barren rock. I somehow knew at that moment that the cosmos and celestial bodies were "at work."

I was immediately aware of some cosmic mechanization and plan in general, but with no details.

It was as if the moon grabbed me, shook me and said, "Wake up. There is more out here. There is a system unrecognized by most humans."

I feel that some change is pending on the planet and with humanity. I have no idea if this change will occur this year or in this millenia. But something IS changing.

Can't you feel it?
