Powers of "Demons"

If you don't believe in demons or spirits and you don't believe they could have any power or influence over you regardless.....

Is it still possible to become possessed by them?

I suppose it's possible to be struck by lightning even if you don't believe that it exists.

I must add that I don't believe that an unfriendly being can get the best of us if we choose a positive way of being, don't allow any weaknesses to develop, and use our discrimination.

A few hundred years ago people believed the Earth was flat and that you would fall off if you went too far.

The Earth didn't change it's shape because people changed their belief about it.

Well, what I am asking is really more in depth, I mean, if a person scientifically goes through a process, attempting to be possessed by demons, but that person does not believe in demons, can they still become possessed?

Let's say a daily ritualistic bloodletting self created magical chant incantation spell asking to be possessed. But, the bottom line is that the scientist doesn't believe it's possible, but the scientist is using science to test the existence of demons.

Without performing said test, would it not be doomed at the start, since a disbelief in something affectingly creates a protective barrier? Or can demons effect humans regardless at a scientifically testable level?

Let's face it, if it cannot be tested, the odds of it existing are low. Not nonexistent, but low.

I think it does not depend on believing it. It depends on how susceptable someone is and the strength or lack of strenght to resist possession.

If someone does not believe in it, but is very susceptible I assume it can happen.

Disbelief is not a protective barrier enough. If the person has a strong will and is in good health and does not want it to happen it is more unlikely to happen.

But everything is relative. It also depends on the strength of the demon.
And if the demon is strong enough it won't cooperate but choose another and easier victim.
There is no use for a demon to scientifically prove itself.

A demon really doesn't go for a pack of cookies on the table.

The word demon conjures an image of a scary looking being, and maybe a being is hoping the look will inspire intense fear? A ball of light exploring what it is like to be human, passes on and still has an obsessive passion for external power, learns that you can use thoughts to mold your projected image. The intended actions of this being could be bad, but projecting a fearful image could make it seem worse. Another being, but same intentions, face like an angel, eyes warm and pleasant like rays of sunshine. How about what kind of influence dense, heavy and intense fear has on your power to make a suitable decision for a particular moment? How about thinking everything is dandy, and when you're most vulnerable, suddenly turns out it is not?

The "demon" says: you will clean my astral cups, forever. Do as I say or face terror, forever.
John Orb Jane Doe: where is Gollum when you need him, Demonic Death Lord Master Jr., because this is precious.

Underestimation doesn't help you when deciding to cross a shabby bridge almost falling apart by looking at it, but so with overestimating cars so that you never leave your house, and live a life lurking behind curtains.

What demons do and why they affect you has been extensively described in 'Mental Illnesses Seen from the Other Side' by Jozef Rulof but that book has not been translated into English yet.

Some information about black magic can also be found in his book 'A View into the Hereafter' under chapter IX Black Magic.

More information is available in Spiritual Gifts.

I think I would like to set up a ten to twenty scientist demon testing challenge to test this claim. I will have to work on strict guidelines to the process to keep it completely controlled of course. I am betting there will be zero demonic hits in the test however.
