Hi,

It sure seems like her direct experience was wonderful !  I don't see anything about hell in that NDE, do you?

She added that other stuff after she got back.--??

Okay Jdee,
Please don't take this the wrong way, but I want to point something out to you. When you first came to us on this board (and we are very happy that you did), you were deathly afraid (pun intended) that there was no afterlife, just the "big sleep". Now it seems that you do believe in the afterlife! Your fear has progressed to a mortal fear (again, intended) of hell. Now if you believe in hell, you necessarily believe in Heaven, as they are they are conceptual counterpoints. So this is progress! As I told you once a while back, maybe you should consider your fear as an entity unto itself, that seeks an outlet, whether it be  death or hell or high places (oops, thats my fear). I believe that fear like yours imay be mostly physical, or physiological anyway, and could be greatly reduced by learning to practice meditation or prayer, or whatever version of peaceful centering you choose. Do you do some form of daily meditation? Please don't take this as a criticism, its just a thought.
Best regards,
Freeman

You are 100% correct Bardo. Even before this religious fear I thought I had lymphoma cancer for about 8 months. I visited 2 doctors, 3 haematologists, and had countless tests to be eventually diagnosed with anxiety. However I didnt believe this and still thought I had cancer. I have tried praying but the only prayer I know is Catholic prayer. I have also tried cognitive behavioral therapy.

However I now have this huge fear of hell and I think that the miracles, saints and visions prove this.

Hi Jdee,

First of all I can honestly say that I'm 100% sure that you are NOT going to hell.  How can I say this?  Because after reading a few of your posts, I can see that you are a very loving and caring person.  In fact the very core of your being IS love.  To know this for yourself, all you need do is let go of your fears.  The love deep inside you will well up and fill your entire being.  I know easier said than done, but as Bardo says, look at how far you've come already.

Have you ever asked yourself what hell is?  It seems to me that hell is allowing your fears to take over your thoughts and emotions.  For example, if 3 doctors tell you that you don't have cancer, then by all means believe them!  Focus your thoughts in the direction of being healthy just as the doctors say you are.  Otherwise, you are putting yourself through hell.

One of the really wonderful things about the way our minds work is that we can choose how we think and how we feel. We can believe anything we want to.  We have that choice.  Choose love and you never need worry or fear hell.

I know Matthew (DocM) has a good ebook he recommends about how our consciousness works.  I can't think of the name at the moment, but maybe he will pop in here to let us know the name, if he hasn't already mentioned it to you previously.

Thank you Kathy. According to the Church love doesnt matter, only faith g7in Jesus or you will go to hell. Then the visions of hell the saints have must prove it is true?

Jdee, I wonder what faith in Jesus really means?  It seems to me that Jesus tried to teach us all about love.  How we could love God, each other, our self and all of nature.  If we have faith (are faithful to) Jesus, then ought we not follow his teachings about love?

Love is really a state of being. How we are at any given point in time.  Fear is also a state of being.  When we are afraid, we do not have faith.  What the saints describe as hell is also a state of being, a state of consciousness in which they many times used strong metaphors to describe a fearful state of being, which is hell.

Truly, if we walk through life with love and courage in our heart, banishing our fears, everything will turn out alright.  To me this sums up all Jesus' teachings and this is how we can be faithful to God.

Jdee:

I dig what Lights of Love wrote.

Perhaps you might find these articles I wrote helpful. I was thinking of people such as yourself when I wrote them. People who have been associated with Churches that scare/scar people rather than inspire them.

If your 'religion' causes so much fear, it's time to let it go.

Just look into your heart. Do you have good intentions? That's what matters most. If you follow something not because you want to but because you are afraid not to, who fools who? Surely God knows what's in your heart. So it's best to go with that even if it isn't in accord with what some fear-oriented people tell others.

Jdee, you're a beautiful person and as what recoverer says, look into your heart and don't be afraid to do so and you'll find only love.
Love is what powers life, the universe, the afterlife ..... it's the baseline, it's everything... god is love.

Man created religions to instill fear so they could control other people because they couldn't feel the love, they felt separate.

However every account of people who's OBE'd, astral travelled, NDE's who didn't have a religious background say there is only love and if there is a hell... it's a only suffering that's created by your own way of thinking and once you change your thoughts you'll be able to recieve the love and move on.

This forum is on Bruce Moen's website and he mentions nothing of a religious style of hell as being as absolute and he's widely 'travelled'! Smiley

Let go of the fear, only follow jesus's teachings of love and put down the other bits of the bible if it's causing you so much anxiety.

No-one will judge you, except yourself.

You are love and that's all there is. Smiley

I read this link and it described each different outlook on different possible afterlife's. Each one had one thing in common:

Continuance.

I'll take eternity in a fiery Hell, as long as I am a conscious being. Sounds better than the nothingness which I am expecting! Besides, what is the point of a fiery hell without the possibility of moving up in the ranks and maybe upgrading to an air conditioned room as long as you are willing to spread pain and suffering! Bring on the Hell! I'm waiting! Anything. Just... not empty black nothingness.  Grin
