A touching NDE and death; moving beyond words
Dec 29th, 2011 at 3:57pm

This 2 part video was made by a brave and sincere young man of 17, who suffered from a severe cardiomyopathy.  He died less than two weeks after making the videos.

It is moving beyond words, and important for any interested in life and the afterlife.  Watch both parts:

I wondered if that had been posted here.

Who'd have thought Kid Cudi would be an angel!

I like the quick life review by looking in the mirror and glad he said he felt proud of himself. Maybe he was saying he'd accomplished his goals.

interesting to see comments posted by kids at the video sites (including Cudi's song). Wow if you are willing to go out on a limb your life can really touch a lot of others. Wonder how he (Ben) managed to get a last name like that!

Thanks for posting, Doc.

Here's another one that is interesting, at least as it reflects one person's view as to what he believes lies ahead after death.

Ben's NDE was interesting for a number of reasons.  For me, the emotional content of the story, the upfront honesty and the similarity to prior NDEs that he probably didn't know about was telling.

Why he saw a helper as a still living rapper Kid Cudie, I'm not sure, except that I believe a helper/angel may take any form that would make us comfortable.

I like the life review aspect, where he saw his reflection in a mirror and was proud; proud of what he did with his life.  Imagine that at 18 years old.  How many of us can say that with unflinching certainty?

His message reached several million people.

He had a deep impact on many.

Hi jdee,

I don't understand what's fearful about it. Did you listen to what he was saying?

The man is at peace because he found out some information that was very significant to him. He is with loved ones and is sharing his important understanding. He's alright.

True, the other person talks rather abruptly and loud but she's just trying to stay in touch with him while his consciousness is already half way passed over. She's alright.

Have you read some of the articles here listed in that top second column that pops down to the right of "Websight Navigation Menu" yet? They're good, all good. You could post about them and we could discuss them then if you'd like?

It was worrying me because he says only true Christians make it to heaven and God will send others to hell.

JDee,

The two main ideas behind christianity or love of God and love of others.  It has little to nothing to do with being a member of an organization.  Serial killers were documented as being members of churches and temples too.  What does that tell you?

It is what is in your heart, and no one sends you to hell or heaven.  You choose based on your loves and the state of your consciousness.  So you said that you were afraid some judgemental deity would hurl you into a pit of fire?  Ridiculous.  My understanding of what happens after death is that gradually we strip away layers of our external self and embrace our true essence.  For some, this inner person can be loving and gentle.  For others, the inner person may be what most would consider to be a horrible sadist.  After this stage of death the people who embrace an unloving nature find themselves in a hellish plane.  But here's the thing;  they actually want to be there!  That is their love, at the time (causing pain to another, lying cheating, etc.).  If they could be transported to a higher plane, even temporarily, they wouldn't fit in.  They might see nothing (since it is not in their thought process).

See in the afterlife stages of consciousness, there is no subterfuge (or faking it).  Everyone can see almost immediately what you are all about - there is no hiding your thoughts (except for one skilled group who Swedenborg called the hypocrites, who apparently learned how to painstakingly fake a spiritual process and appearance).

Heaven or hell is what you choose - what you make of it.  People wonder if they will be happy after death.  Well, were you happy during life?  Were you a loving person in general?  If so, there is no reason some awful ill fate should befall you.

Fear means giving up your free will to an outside force.  Instead of seeing yourself as a powerful creative person who can choose, you fear being powerless and assigned to something awful.  Choose to be part of the process and empowered instead.

Jdee:

It isn't as if God is this big mean dictator in the sky. I've experienced divine love and fear has nothing whatsoever to do with it. It is impossible to love another completely, whether that other be God or whoever, if one feels as if one has to love that other or else.

Perhaps that man experienced something fear based because that is the kind of information he could integrate. There are plenty of people who have had near death experiences where they experienced profound love and peace, and fear based viewpoints had nothing to do with what they experienced.

Here's an example of how people need different things. I used to work as a volunteer at a hospital. I used to speak to this man who was a former drug addict. He  stopped being an addict partly by becoming involved with a form of Christianity that seemed fundamentalist. I don't know all of the details.

Whatever the case, even though I had told myself that I wouldn't try to convert any patients to my way of thinking, after this man started to speak in a fundamentalist way I started to try to get him to see differently, but then I felt the presence of Christ on my left cheek (I've felt it there before, a very soothing sensation). I received a strong feeling that Christ was helping this man in a way that was appropriate for him at the time.  He was involved with a way that would work for him. So I stopped telling him what I believed.

It may be that the man in Rondelle's video received information that was appropriate for him, but this doesn't mean that it represents precisely how things are for everybody.

When it comes to determining whether God and Christ have anything to do with fundamentalist viewpoints, the main thing we need to do is listen to our heart and common sense. The more we do so, the more we are likely to see that fear-based fundamentalist viewpoints aren't in accord with divine love and truth.

Hi jdee,

I guess I didn't listen as well as I thought. I see what you mean now.

However please don't worry about the man's thoughts of heaven being restricted to only Christians. Maybe he spoke of Christianity because it is a fine example. Every religion has kind and compassionate people, else how could they have survived to be in this world now.

Best wishes, Betson

What about catholic saints who have had mystical experiences and seen hell and purgatory?

And Mary who has appeared and shown these places?

Hi,

Only the person who has a dream or vision knows
how much it affects him/her and so whether it is a vision or just a regular nightmare or dream.

This time I'll admit up front that I haven't read what these people said about theirs, some maybe even before they were sainted. But it seems like there's a possibility that their stories got so emphasized, exaggerated even, that some regular nightmares were declared 'visions.'

I believe saints are examples for us, reminders that even ordinary people -- like many saints were before they were sainted -- can have life-turning experiences while sleeping.

Do you know where I can read what some of these people told about theirs? I don't mean what the Church said they saw, but in their own words, what they saw?
The only one I can remember might be Paul when he was on the road to Damascus, and he was gentler and kinder after he'd seen the Light, as I recall.

We're all on our own road, our own journey, I think  Smiley
