Promising imagination exercise progress
Jan 4th, 2011 at 2:44pm

This is an account of two incidents that recently occured.

A couple of weeks ago after waking up early I managed to phase very easily into what I thought was a random location. I initially got a rough image of grass. This then became very real and in colour. I was now fully immersed in the scene. The next thing I noticed was the sound of children playing. Looking round I realised I was out the front of a house with an American style raised porch. I followed the sound of kids round the side of the house where there were more buildings and a pool or fountain. I swished my hands through to get a feeling of how real it was. A young boy greeted me. He told me his name was Nicholas. I was suddenly distracted by the sunlight. I remember thinking I can feel the heat. As I was about to ask Nicholas where this place was I was brought back to the physical by my girlfriend stirring.

This morning I tried to get back there using the Bruces method of imagination as a means of perception. I started by picturing the grass, feeling the texture, visualising the porch front. I walked out to the edge of property. It was on a little country lane with a farmers fields adjacent. Interesting, I didnt recall imagining that. I then visualised going round the back of the house to find Nicholas. He was waiting for me. When I asked him where we were he said it was the Santuary. Did I make that up? I certainly didn;t intend to come up with that. I continued my questioning. He said it was a place where only children resided.

I got the impression they were here to recover or be taken care of (note - a while back I remember reading about someone (maybe Frank Kepple) who visited an area of consciousness similar. Did I lift it straight from this? Maybe...). When I asked where they were he said they were eating in the hall.

He then said something surprising. This was that I was a regular visitor here. That I often come to help out. I asked him how I was allowed here if I was not a child. He said while I am here I take on an appearance of myself as a child. He said he himself is not a child but that it was just his persona for the place. I looked at my reflection in the water and indeed saw myself as a child. He then proceeded to show me into hall where the kids where all sitting in long rows. It all ended shortly after.

That's very intriguing, floriferous!

Your description of the child may hit on the idea that we have multiple aspects of ourselves.  Or maybe I don't understand 'aspects.' Since you seem conscious of yourself as you are now and not that you have been out and about as a child.

Do you have childhood memories of visiting in the countryside that would make it a good choice as a Sanctuary?

It's neat that you were able to go back there so easily, and get more information.  I think Nicholas was one of your guides.
