Reincarnation in the NYT
Aug 30th, 2010 at 1:03am

Interesting article in today's New York Times Sunday Styles section entitled "Remembrances of Lives Past" regarding the increasing belief in reincarnation in the West.

Hi Pat,

Bravo for NYT giving the reincarnation idea such prominence!  Maybe that will allow more people to look into the possibilities --which will lead to more and more afterlife potential  Smiley  Yay!

Whether reincarnation experiences are  from our own selves or from the Collective Conscious doesn't really concern me. It's the degree of detail and how satisfying such knowledge is. It's the fact that either way we are more connected to the Whole than most contemporary life admits.  Discovering these lives personally gives our  'soul restlessness' some peace, I've found.

Many thanks for sharing this!

Thanks for posting. Very interesting article although I hate reading some of the comments. I don't know why I torture myself like that.

Hmm, kind of interesting and heartening but also a bit "so what".

Many Eastern cultures have had, for a long time, a mostly open, accepted and mostly collective belief in reincarnation and it hasn't improved their cultures or PUL attunement all that much.

But then again, belief is a bit different from actual knowledge.  I think experiential knowledge about other lives can help to improve peoples lives and eventually the larger society.

Especially if it leads one to the awareness of the necessity of living in tune with a more PUL attuned Consciousness.  Otherwise it's just another belief system which doesn't matter too much in and of itself.

(yes, i do believe in and know about other lives, karma, Disks, and all that jazz).

  Hi S.M.,

I agree, and that's why i wrote the "kind of interesting and heartening" part.

Very interesting that the NYT would run such a story!  And quote the doctor at the end as saying “I have become convinced that there is more to the world than the physical universe."  Feels like a tide is changing.
