Hi

Chrwe said "I always wondered about people
with brain damage or under medication that
makes them aggressive..."

I do too, chrwe.  Do they have to revv up their willpower to compensate for their loss, and then not notice that their aggression has increased?

This entire thread is, oddly Huh ,  one of my favorites now. It makes me very happy to be a member of this community!

I seem to remember the little Lion King asking his father, "Gee, Dad, don't the big animals eat the little animals?" and his father then sang to him "It's the Circle of Life...".....

Yup, life is a circle. Even men of peace must sometimes go to war, it seems. Life is a paradox, not absolute.... This is how we define who we think we really are, no?

No. Don't kill whoever you want, in my humble opinion. Even if karma does not exist, do you really need to be told what is the proper action here?

Took a short walk by the sea today to soak up some sun and to get the smells of the warmed up ground, just to have some uncomplicated enjoyment. Sat down and watched a bird couple fend off bigger birds, some interested in their nest, some just flying by. They did deliver their message without pecking their heads off. Maybe they'd be fiercer if some of the intruders didn't give up, but it didn't come to that while sitting there.

One of the examples here is to kill someone for eating the food you killed. I'll leave the killing for food out of this. If there wasn't a sense of right and wrong, there'd be no killing over eating your food. But what's the point in opening a can with an atom bomb? Breaking the arm of one's child for stealing candy from the cupboard? Very poor sense of proportion/balance. Now, that's logical. No bearded man in the sky needed for that, nor an excellent george carlin quote. I remember observing some children while working in a kindergarden, pinching and smacking each other. They seemed to switch turns during a period of time, and got the emotional impact of being the receiver. Obviously felt wrong, and after a while they stopped taking each other's toys, playing by themselves, with others or together. Things get more complicated as grown up whomans, but probably still a little bit of repetition going on similar to those experiences as children.

I did leave the military draft after three days when younger, despising every minute of it. Still would have found a way out, or even refused. Though not a soldier, the only justification I can find to kill another dude or dudette is self defense, when they have the intent to kill. But self defense certainly isn't about chopping your bosses head off for not paying you a thousand dollars for one hour of sleep at work.

Hi Tuna: That is categorically wrong. It is an apparency of the liniear illusion. The truth is very much different than what looks or appears to be obvious... Power will always overcome force.

Dear CharlieTuna,

True RM did state, “It's a preditor world” but he also found his greatest joy in sharing what he learned as an explorer. Also through his books and TMI as well as the list below given him on one of his journeys. Aside from the list being in The Ultimate Journey, it is also included in one of Bruce's books as well as on the Ultimate Journey section of this site from which it was taken. Food for thought for those confused:

There is no beginning, there is no end,
    There is only change.
There is no teacher, there is no student,
   There is only remembering.
There is no good, there is no evil,
   There is only expression.
There is no union, there is no sharing,
   There is only one.
There is no joy, there is no sadness,
   There is only love.
There is no greater, there is no lesser,
   There is only balance.
There is no statis, there is no entropy,
   There is only motion.
There is no wakefulness, there is no sleep,
   There is only being.
There is no limit, there is no chance,
   There is only a plan.

this is a partial rendition of what Monroe left us,
every now and then I think it's good to
reread it because we can forget some of these points.

I had a close friend and longterm soulmate involved in a violent altercation that dramatically changed his life.  He was left physically damaged and it had been a senseless and awful situation...one I might have accompanied him into.  I asked my guidance if this was something I might one day experience and if so, why.  I was told that 1) it is not in my lifeplan, and as I am following it quite closely through no apparent conscious effort of my own, I need not worry about it, 2) my friend chose not to undergo a wartime experience at any time and you (I) have died twice in war in the last two hundred years, both violently, and 3) you are now beyond desiring the violence and physical destruction available in this human experience...while you could find it if you chose to, have you not noticed that you have sidestepped issues with violent people and they gladly sidestepped dealing with you?

I have, in fact noticed on a few occasions, that while out with a group of friends, large, intoxicated, and violent people (almost always men, but surprisingly sometimes women!  I will say, as a matter of explanation that I have a group of fraternity brothers who are great college football fans and we do see each other fairly frequently and relive our longpast college days, complete with adolescent level imbibation and repartee) have looked straight at me and moved on to the next guy...oddly, in so doing, their momentum seems to diminish and their best front is often reduced and they find something else to do...I almost feel like Obi Wan Kenobi saying "You don't want to deal with us...you want to have another beer and pass out in the corner..."  It seems to be what happens!

As DocM stated, we do indeed get what we think of and choose...like cannot but attract like.  If you spend time thinking of negative things you will indeed get them...likewise if you intend to have good things, good times and wonderful relationships you will find those as well.  This lifetime is a wonderful opportunity to choose, to create the world in which you will live...think and create a wonderful life for yourself and your loved ones and you will get it...it works.  Killing anything or anyone is not anything I want to think about and thus it will not be a part of my direct experience.  I'm a lover not a fighter...I think I'll stick with that and never have to worry about the survival of the fittest...it just hasn't been and won't be a part of my reality.

I, too, appreciate the wonderful array of thoughtful comments in response to the original posit.  I think my post was more of a redirect than a refutation..."I've lived this...that is something I will not live...make your own choice, and the choice is yours."  Comments that are hard and fast, negative and angry do not hold water for me, so I provide an alternative.

love and light...

usetawuz,

The tips you received from your Guidance regarding pervious or alternative personalities reminds me of my own speculations.

Since I was a teen and my mom got Bridee Murphy as soon as it came out in the 1960's, reincarnation was the only thing that ever made sense to me.

Whether it's our true experience or not is besides the point but it's a great concept to play around with.

I tell my sons to look at the general patterns in their own lives and those of their extended family to see the issues that they're currently dealing with or conversely observe the ones they're  not. Examples of our family might be: No major health issues or physical handicaps, early deaths of some parents, living in fairly safe areas, no murders (yet)--you get the idea.

It's sort of a distancing exercise that you've also been playing around with. Love it!!!

CharleyTuna wrote on Jul 17th, 2010 at 3:22am:
No logical response. Religion has convinced people that there’s an invisible man…living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn’t want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer and burn and scream until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you and he needs money.

Hi Charley,
here you've provided a brilliant encapsulation of everything wrong with established religions. Good stuff!
They're still peddling the 'do as we say or else' stuff.
Un/fortunately (depending on your point of view) an increasing number of folks are rejecting this ELS BS (belief system, not the other acronym) which is why fundamentalists of any religious persuasion can bleat as much as they like about obeisance or retribution or one particular religion ruling the world, but it will never happen.
I state this because just maybe some of your predator world views could have their origins in a 'kill the unbelievers' mental stance. Or I may be wrong (naturally!)

But you say that right and wrong exist only in the mind of the observer. Not necessarily. Your mention of the old git of religions watching every move we make, and matching it against the ten things we shouldn't do is only the beginning. Actually the old testament is full of the most insane instructions by today's standards, but that's something else again.
I'd like to suggest to you that at the end of your life it will be YOU that will judge yourself, and you'll realise that there are essential judgements that are above moralistic fashion. In other words, you will know what you did right and wrong in a purely spiritual sense when you review your life.

'you die because you're weak'?
No, you die for many reasons: it's in your life plan to experience something, or you simply die because you've had enough of this one and completed what you came here to do/experience.
This is not a sign of weakness.
'There is no punishment for killing the weakest'?

How do you know? Perhaps compassion is a purer form of strength than execution?
You may find that you punish yourself for this after your life review at the end of this incarnation.

Just some things to think over.

Best wishes,
David.

If he did he would have been a completely different person, and just to balance his life as Bundy, he may have/will come back as a rather weedy, ineffectual person  Sad Shocked

Maybe the same thing's already happened to Hitler
(mind you don't tell Alan that, or he'll go off on a rant again?  Grin)

It all balances out in the end.
