Love and Light,
Thomas
You're right, he didn't "demand", but i seem to remember him asking us to follow in his ways, and to be like he is, and that is perfection in the flesh.
Sometimes we limit ourselves, get into comfort zones, and say this or that is our "best" when it's really not. Like you have said many times before here, we can be completely like (and One with) him, if we really want to and choose thusly.
But, we can't just "believe" ourselves there alone (though positive belief is a very important part of it), it must be totally backed by constant and consistent actions, thoughts, feelings, etc. and our whole being must attune to the Divine. And, something not often talked about is that if this is to be completed in the flesh (which is the ideal and ultimate goal), then there must be a perfect balance and coordination between the body, the mind, and Spirit aspects.
Yes, even the body physical must be cleansed, strengthened (though not in the usual sense of the word, like in working out), and balanced. Even as his was (like the 40 days of fasting in the "wilderness").
