I don't know what will happen but I stumbled upon this guy (far out and crazy like me) David Wilcock and he has some interesting things to say.

2012 is about the time when several breakthrough technologies will hit full production.  Several solar panel breakthroughs will dramatically lower the cost of solar energy production and they will become as common on roofs as satellite dishes.

At the same time, a tenfold improvement in batteries causing replacement of liquid fuel automobiles will be going full blast in 2012.  The Chevy Volt will be out in 2010 with others not far behind.  By 2012 everyone will be planning on replacing their liquid fuel car with an electric.

This could cause the collapse of the OPEC countries as well as the end of the ethanol boom in agricultural states.

It will also mean that our electric grid is adequate for years to come at its current state since everyone can use their solar roofs and new battery technology for their energy needs.

Here are some recent stories about new technology.

http://tech.yahoo.com/news/nf/57832

if Stanford University scientists succeed in commercializing a breakthrough in the laboratory. Assistant Professor Yi Cui and associates at Stanford's Department of Materials Science and Engineering said they have developed a method to increase the life of rechargeable lithium ion batteries to a whopping 40 hours.

Publishing in the journal Nature Nanotechnology, the Stanford researchers have shown that by using silicon nanowires as the battery anode instead of today's graphite, the amount of lithium the anode can hold is extended tenfold.

Revolution in Battery Design

"It's not a small improvement," Cui said. "It's a revolutionary development." And Cui means to move the development out of the lab as soon as possible. "We are working on scaling up and evaluating the cost of our technology," Cui said. "There are no roadblocks for either of these."

The Chevy Volt will use Lithium Ion batteries:

The Chinese have a different battery technology they are betting on:

I like David Wilcock.
I don't know if he has all the 'right' answers however, what he has to say is interesting.

Here is the home of those videos that you posted.
They are 'cleaner' here and you can downloand the Windows Media files to your hard drive in case they somehow 'disappear' from the net.

Yes old dood I agree with you.

I have been following this earth changes/2012 thing for a long time and I am hesitant to believe anything specific but am eager to hear/read someone's take on the concept. keeping my mind open and not making any judgements one way or another. Somehow I don't want to be saying that the 'big pumpkin' is coming and then nothing happens...

I think Bob Monroe or Bruce Moen simply refer to it as 'the event' (please correct me if I am wrong)

On a slightly related topic google/youtube anything on the 'disclosure project'. Now that is interesting! (to me)

regards

LOTS of info on Disclosure, etc.

It is a fantastic website.

I've felt my consciousness shifting ever since I became interested in spiritual matters and it seems that others around me are waking up.

From what I've read 2012 is an astrological event when one great Mayan cycle gives way to another and the earth will be aligned with the centre of the milky way galaxy.

A memorable quote I sometimes share is

'We are on our way to becoming fifth dimensional telepathic beings.' - Dr John Jay Harper who wrotes 'Tranceformers of the 21st century'

So pretty soon we won't be able to hurt one another without feeling it deeply. I hope that 2012 and beyond represents moving into a time of peace and advanced spiritual awareness, as many people have said. I sincerely hope that it doesn't mean the end of the world or more war, as many others have said too. Its hard to know exactly what to believe so I'm taking it all in and appreciate the links that people have posted.

Never say die,

Michael

Michael - that was quite well written. I too believe that "people around me are starting to do some serious thinking".

Just alone the fact that the world almost in its entirety is "watching" the USA political poles like hawk eyes! 20 years ago no one in europe was really concerned about "who would be president in the USA in the next election"..Today people are holding their breath at times...

Also the so called  "paranormal" is beginning to become more excepted in a broader range and is not being looked upon as being "a religious gift", such as being "holy" but rather as being "naturally aware and gifted". (I am happy for this change of attitude!)

More and more people speak out their disgust about the "death penalty" and are looking for better ways.

etc..

Love to all,
Nanner

Consciousness level of alot of people is changing rapidly and I hope it keeps going.

Another question on the 2012 though is this "Bang-boom" theory. I come straight out and ask how many really believe that the world as we know it today, is going to evaporate? The 2012 take according to Maya doesnt state it like that, but other theorist do state it. So whats the scoop? Nanner

I really have no real 'clue' as to what will happen.

However, I do like what David Wilcock has been saying.
I do not know if he has all the right answers or not.  Probably not but, still he has some interesting viewpoints.
