Based on reports from past life regressions, spirit world explorations, and my own experiences, solidity seems to range from the nearly invisible vaporous to obdurately brick-like lumps. I personally think that this is an embodiment that we put on, rather than a shell in which we are forcibly enveloped.

My direct experience from my latest retrieval suggests that it depends on the habits and desires of the person due to the fact that freedom of choice is honored in that realm.  A person may dictate to themself that they have to heal up in order to get better and be given a hospital to fit their expectation.  Realizing that your spirit is never injured, you can begin moving moutains right away but the F27 crew seems to follow a hands-off policy.

To get your answers to the questions you have (No, I do not want to give them to you.  I respect your freedom to choose. Cheesy)  Practice whatever meditative you feel is a perfect fit for you and practice playing with the mind's eyes and ears and "psychic antenna".  Then ask " *Question goes here* ".  Most effective when your worries and anxiety are cast asside.

To give an example, when my Out of Body mode of travel is not working as expected, I use the technique that Bruce Moen teaches to jump right to where I need to be.  In my own experience the "Focued Intent" method that B.M. teaches keeps me on target while the O.B.E method...I have so for, used the O.B.E. more for fun and recreation like diving into my subconscious and visiting "Wonderlands".

Have Fun,

As Bruce says, the trick is actually realizing you are doing it.  For example, if you get the impression that you saw something and yet you didn't, you got a hit.  Focusing intent can be as simple as "make a wish and focus upon it without distraction."  Try closing your eyes to get in touch with the mind's sense of sight and sound and other inputs.  You may get vauge impressions that you heard a voice or a sound or saw an image.  Take each experience as it is and give it "free press."

The solid materialization is harder to attain on the physical realm but not so difficult on the higher spiritual planes . I see spirit in a variety of ways on the earthly plane ;

*golden and silver stripes or  orbs
*jewel tones orbs
* smaller to scale clear spirits
* coloured but sheer see thru ghosts
* solid looking full apparitions

The awareness is a choice by our freewill . We can become more sentient , more interactive by raising our vibration on earth in this life and in our afterlife and thru our future monadic lives

We can become lower and heavier in our vibrations too and allow our homes in spirit world to decay as we begin to sleep eternally and rest in peace .

I believe that we have only one life as each personality or spirit  which will  exist eternally in the afterlife . But I feel we have a continuous soul which will take a new body , new spirit and new personality into the next incarnation .

That's interesting Aunt Clair....I am moving toward the same view of spirits in the afterlife as you describe above.  However, for me the concept of "personality" is a little confusing.  I have a gut feeling that all of what and who we have been is preserved for eternity, and some science supports that view.

But when we get to the other "side" I would have to also conclude that our "personalities" continue to evolve there.  Since personality is such a fluid thing it is difficult for me to describe it as being permanent in any way, shape or form.

What I mean is, our experiences shape us, as well as our observations, knowledge given to us, and our intelligence.

In the afterlife, I wonder how different we do become? It seems that we could become incredibly different...and so I see personality as a shape-shifting thing, eternal and yet constantly changing.

And, additionally, I have this feeling inside of me that the afterlife exists for us, as it will be, right now. I feel that I have visited my own afterlife.  How this is possible, I don't understand.  I feel that we are shaping our afterlife right now, as we live, and yet there is endless possibility at each moment for that to change.

I don't have the coherent words to express this feeling. Others have talked eloquently about time and parallel universes, etc. But I just feel, at a gut level, that I visit my "afterlife" all the time in meditations and in dreams.  I feel that it exists right now and that I have access to it. And that is a very amazing thing.

This is the way I get into the afterlife.Before I go to sleep,I pretend that the afterlife is on the otherside of my bedroom door.I then project my mind out side my door.I ask for a helper,and tell him or her to take me to the person I want to meet.Then I find myself in a summer like of place like a park.I then see the person I want to meet.I once saw a young man,who came to me.I asked him who he was.He told me he was my son.We embrased,He was about 25 years old.My wife said that she had carried a baby for six months and lost him.She said he was a perfectly formed baby boy.George
