Life's Plans & Missions
Feb 2nd, 2007 at 11:53pm

I am curious as to the particulars of life events and happenings. If our lives are following individualized pre-developed plans that are fabricated in the ethereals and brought to fruition in the physical, then are there key events in our lives that are meant to happen no matter what, or is it possible for the things that were meant to happen to not happen thereby distrupting the flow of others' plans, consequently, creating a sort of avalanche effect? Also, can life events that were meant to occur but never did, be altered in such a way as to retain the desired lesson that was predicated priorly for spiritual growth (maintaining the same physical lifetime)?

I know that there are NDErs who are communicated to that it is "not their time" and feel as though they have unresolved missions, etc. that are still left to be resolved. So, with that in mind and the prearranged life plans and mission to consider, would it also be the case that it was in these NDErs life plans and missions to experience being told that it was not their time because of other life plans and missions?

Curious ponderings,

PUL,

Hi CA-
From the topological perspective, all the infinite number of possible universes have all been set into potentiality, meaning that they all have the capability of coming into manifestation if anyone wants to go there and have the experience. That happened in the first instant of creation.

It's very much as if someone built all the possible worlds and universes in which they might exist. What we do is to choose the one that we wish to experience. That experience involves specific relationships etc with others. They, in turn, choose the universes that they live in, and, when we choose alike, we discover that somehow we are touching, communicating and so on. When we choose differently, we experience different realities to some extent. It's like deciding how to go downtown - walk along these paths, or maybe try that one over there etc. That determines who we meet and what interactions we can have. Our specific direction is determined by will and intent, by karmic residues, and by whatever looks like fun if we go there to try it out. It's not a matterof BSTs, but rather it's a choice of actual realities that can be shared. BSTs are recognized by their generally "un-share-able" nature, although all the possible BSTs also were created and stashed in potentiality right along with all the rest of the cosmos.

It's a bit of a brain twister to envision this, but it makes sense from the viewpoint of selection of the various geometries that we experience.

I'm inclined to agree with Dave. I'm a NDEer who was given a choice to go on or return. At the time I was a 17 year old hell raiser & not too anxious to come face to face with the vengeful God I had been taught about; so I came back.

Phaser, can you describe your NDE?

It was probably the best choice to come back, being that you were so young and, being a "hellraiser", obviously did not complete what you had set out to do or learn here on earth.

However, the teachings of God you are familiar with, you need not be concerned about.  There is no vengeful god.  Hopefully upon further inspection of this forum you will come to see this.  Noone is out there waiting for you to screw up so they can condem you to eternal pain and torcher.  That is just not the way it works.  Once you realise this, you will no longer do good deads out of fear of being punished in the afterlife, but for the sake of love and oneness.

Cosmic.  I don’t think our plans are laid out as to specifics the same way we make plans here on Earth.

I suspect that we have general inclinations that we choose but we work out the specifics as we go along.  It’s like wanting to go to the movies but not picking the particular film I’ll see until I get to the mall and the megaplex.  I may even decide after I get there that I’m not interested in the films being shown and go shopping instead.  If I have friends who also want to go to the movies, they’re still free to see a movie while I do something else.  They may be upset with me but they’ll get over it more than likely.  Possibly I’ll decide to see a movie with them even though I realized I wasn’t that interested in seeing it.  My action may disappoint someone or may disappoint myself, but everything we do involves making choices.  Ideally because we’re friends no one will be disappointed because we all want our friends to be free to do what they want.

I don’t think we mess up other people’s plans.  Rather I think there’s a built in flexibility.  Lets say the plan was to hook up with another person in this life.  If it was mutually agreed to, odds are you’ll meet.  But when you do meet you still have to work out the nature of your relationship in the present and that is what the plan was in the first place.

Phaser:  I’m also curious about your NDE and how it impacted you.

I think the answer is "Yes".  Not very helpful?

I remember reading, and can't remember from where (hell, could have been Terry Pratchett, sometimes wisdom is hiding in fantasy) someone saying that "fate" , "destiny", whatever, was always trying to correct itself.

My example from life (and it may be all fanatsy, but it makes a decent illustration) is my life.  My folks originally planned on buying property that would have put me right next door to where John grew up.  That fell through, and they bought elsewhere.  A selection of odd happenings, too long and weird to describe here, brought us back together years later.  I had a succession of boyfriends that very closely resembled him physically, even though my  earliest taste was for a totally different "type", it was as though I was searching for him, subconciously.

Now my sister and I both live very near the area that it originally looked certain we'd grow up in.  Possibly/probably just coincidence, though it's socialogically not an area I'd have chosen (most of the ideas on this site would get me either committed or hung drawn and quartered around here).  If that was "fate", I would expect it to happen that way...not stuff magickally transported out of thin air, or anything "weird", but just a long and sometimes torturous series of changes and choices just slightly nudged in the direction of where it was meant to be originally.

as regarding fate, destiny, I think we come here with intentions to express within a given field of endeavor, having that particular talent brought with us, like the biblical story where souls are given one, two or more talents to see if they will actually manifest one or more of them for the benefit of the whole. these intentions are like the destiny thing but we can deny our intentions and choose some other road with the wrong kind of thoughts, like getting in with the wrong crowd and drugging..this just one example, so easy to not be self realized and choose the easy road.this a planet where we all effect each other, so it appears anything goes and there are some people you don't want to let them influence you, so that is a genuine choice/experience of growth too and could be a sort of intention also.

I'm sure there are multiple dimensions of action taking place in multiple time frames.
as far as me I felt like I was puppeteered for awhile by higher self.
but when the gap between the unconscious and conscious mind close a bit, all that puppet feelings recede as an allusion. it's a little like Newton's Destiny of Souls, whereby he says according to his clients he perceives a part of each person (higher self) remains outside of the movie of life, an energetic mind construct, the watcher ever of the movie, well these days the two halves, the conscious and unconscious begin now to blend and that part of me, which lived on the outside is settling into the body as light particles, this the way I explain it now, but I am always changing my explanations which is how we are, as we are ever more becoming more than we thought we could be.

then when we expand our minds, we see others the way we see ourselves, so we want to see ourselves in a good light, so we automatically see others in a good light and this way we help evolution of spirit.
what does the soul look like? probably whatever we imagine. here's a picture I like what the soul possibly looks like although I see certain levels of consciousness as not having form but able to take any form as necessary:

For me what you are asking is exactly the same as asking:

If I plan to go to the grocery store, with a plan to buy specific items and bring them home, will those key events happen no matter what?  And is it possible for the grocery store things that were meant to happen to not happen thereby distrupting the flow of others' plans, consequently, creating a sort of avalanche effect?

Not all the specific details of your trip are necessarily going to go as planned, are they?  For example, you might get to an intersection and feel like you ought to turn left and go the long way to the store, but resist that feeling and chose to drive straight like you usually do.  You might then run over nails in the road scattered there when a box of nails fell off a carpenter's truck on his way to the store.  Now you have three flat tires, you are still miles from the store, you only have one spare tire and that stupid jack-handle lug wrench some cost-conscious engineer made a free will choice to equip your car with, and you can't get the lug nuts loose with this ridiculous contraption.  You go to use your cellphone to call for a tow truck, but even though you knew the phone battery was low yesterday, you made the choice not to put it one the charge right then, so you forgot to do it and now the cellphone battery is dead.  Now you are walking to the gas station for help and . . .

Maybe the best laid plans can be derailed by choices we make before, during and after execution of our plans.  Or as an engineer would say, when you are up to your hind-end in alligators it's hard to remember that your original plan was to drain the swamp.  So, maybe the answer is that as long as we have free will choice any plan we came into any "present" with is subject to the effect of ALL of our free will choices made in the "past"?

Thanks for the great responses everyone.

I suppose that some of the urges that we act upon and some of the choices that we make are guided not only by past choices but also by higher intentions as are previously arranged in the Planning Center and areas of consciousness therein. So, maybe at the intersection when you feel like you ought to turn left and go the long way to the store, maybe urges such as these are guided urges in some instances as to allow for pre-arranged events to take place, or unarranged events to not take place. Although some urges and choices from what I have gathered are simply instinctual discoveries; a bi-product of the human experience; curiosity probes at work. Cause and Effect. (If you touch the stove, it will burn you!)

I suppose that the best way to look at a given reality is as a set of potentialities... It is our inclinations as derived by past experiences (both guided and instinctual) that carry our future selves onto the path of self discovery; developing as we go, the definition for enlightenment... and what that means to us.

PUL back to you Cosmic Smiley let me take the opportunity to say you have always given us pause for thought and I found myself taking your bait so to speak on more than one occassion.

Reading Bruce's response I'm reminded of a story of mine about how past decisions or choices effect the future towards whatever enlightenment may mean.

a few years back I pondered on something to the effect, you know the saying if you do as you have always done you'll get what you have always got?
I was in the market for a new vehicle and I was relunctant to face a car salesman as I am the sort of person whom I perceived, that believes what anyone says and then I am sorry time after time, as I wished to see only the good in mankind and this would be like rose colored glasses. I haven't changed all that much, but this experience I had only reinforced my belief in the good that is lurking in humanity that I always wished to view.
so, wanting to purchase a vehicle in a slightly different manner this time, I decided to ask the universe to handle it for me, and just this once I would let myself be selfish and ask this vehicle to come into my life to test out whether I could really get a good car this way, or if I had to go to the carlots and ads like everyone else and take my chances on whatever I get.
So I said to the universe, universe, may I have a guide to find me a car?
lo and behold I began to dream. a young man came to me in the dream about 3 or 4 different dreams of lucidity, asked me what I wanted, asked me to be as definitive as possible because he said he was very busy and had other customers to attend to, but he would return to me when I had it all figured out.
I didn't put much stock in the dreams until after I acquired the vehicle.
I had another question at the time attached to whether I could have a guide, but also was the question was the universe a benevolent one, or in other words would the universe take care of me when I could not repay the gift to me except with my gratitude?
Apparently gratitude does figure in extensively, and yes I was very happy with my car. this guide even took me for a test drive in it out there before I acquired it. He told me I needed to understand that he had found me a good engine just as I'd asked. I also asked for a shiny paint job but I couldn't think of what else I would want.

And so I just drove right up to this thing and bought it instantly having a knowing.
Destiny? I think I created my own destiny here in this incident.
This gave me confidence to try and create more of what I wanted in my life. but remember the 2nd question was this a benevolent universe that would take care of one, who actually was living her life thinking that nobody took care of anybody here and there was not enough instances of people caring about each other. In a sense, somebody has to be the first one to care, but I was still wondering how we create a world or the reality we wish to live and I wanted to know this question very badly why I don't see more love operating when I really believed that at our basic core, we are love, that has misperceived itself as something other than love.

I live in this belief, and unfortunately or fortunately, I do get folks saying I'm not real.
be that as it may, I was about to find the answer because of the thoughts I had thought.
and it IS a benevolent universe.
Due to my past behavior of being impatient person who like to think they are lucky, I jiggled my cruise control on my new van and broke it into the steering column, which caused it to bind, necessitating that I pull over, stuck in the middle of nowhere, no cell phone, no mechanic, but I remembered another guidance dream. Someone was going to fix this thing; I was instructed to remain calm according to the dream although panic was the first call.
Then I saw my "helper." this another helper, not the guide who found the van.
He was just standing there, living proof that I was taken care of, that there was people out there who care about others. a voice said go up to him and ask for a screwdriver. I did and since I am so independent I was going to rip my steering wheel apart myself and see what was wrong.  thank god he followed me asking if he could further help.
I couldn't have done it without him as I didn't even know steering wheels come off the stem..he pulled it off I reached in with tweezers to retrieve the part that had lodged against some teeth.

I had dreamed all this exactly so but didn't recall clearly at that moment. I had already lived through all this and so I was to remain calm and collected as my lesson, to know I was taken care of and I could go forward with my life always remembering that people care about others.

I had met this fellow out there beforehand also, although in dream language he wore mechanics clothing. it was like we made an appointment out there, and then it manifested in C1.

what I learned in practical matters is not to jiggle something too anxiously what don't wanna work. don't get mad, don't be afraid, stay calm, don't think you are lucky. luck has nothing to do with anything. so it was also an experience which caused me to watch my emotions so I don't create the same problem.

the whole thing made me feel calmer about life in general, that no matter what happens, it can be turned around to a positive thing, so that trouble arriving started to look like opportunity arriving to create something good in that situation.

well, I don't think I really answered Cosmic's question well. I just felt like sharing this story that I think theres something good around the corner for all of us. because we're never alone.

love, alysia
