Search for guidance
Sep 6th, 2006 at 12:19am

Hey all,

I just stumbled across this place, and i really need to get this out.

Lately in life everythings confusing, pretty much everything. I've always had a gut feeling about speaking to a psychic of some sort, partly becuase i desperately need some form of guidance, and partly becuase i have never had any personal spiritual experiences. Im not a skeptic, i actually believe there are many legitimate psychics, but the last thing i would ever do is call one of those $5pm psychics you see in the magazines. I hope i'm not being blunt because i really have no idea what to exactly say, so im just saying everything. If anyone does no a legitimate place i could look into finding a form of guidance in relationship help, or anything about where my future is headed, where my future SHOULD be headed, i would appreciate it much mite then you imagine..

Thankyou,
Damon

Hi Damon

I am new to this place too. Just having a look around and reading. Seem like some lovely people here. I think we have all been where you now are at some point or other in our lives, for different reasons. I know I certainly have - felt like that confusion went of for years. What could a psychic tell you ? We often look out 'psychics' when life isn't going 'right' for us - when we are confused, or experiencing a sense of hopelessness in our lives, for whatever reason/s. I think it is very true to say that very often we have the answers to the questions within. Often though, we need someone else to help us see our way out of this confusion, hopelessness, if that is being experienced; to help us see the wood for the trees again, so to speak. A 'spiritual guide' does not have to exist in the spiritual realm or wear the tag 'psychic'. Someone who knows you well, a good friend, a family member, work colleague or counsellor perhaps. The angels are all around us. I think Christ said somewhere that we must be careful how we treat strangers, because we might be entertaining angels unawares. If we are looking for the answer to something, or guidance, we must be open to seeing it, hearing it and accepting it - often it comes in, and through the most unusual ways. God works in mysterious ways they say, and while we are in this 'natural' world, the 'supernatural' is most often shown to us in the most natural ways and experiences.

Just rambling here. I can empathise with you in this state of confusion you experience. Maybe I am talking a load of CRAP  Shocked  That's OK, it wouldn't surprise me in the least  Grin

I would like to ask, if you care to share this........

What could a psychic tell you that would make you less confused, or happier ? Something about a relationship, family life, work, a bereavement, illness of some kind - depressed for whatever reason/s ? What can you identify yourself as something that would give you a sense of hope in this confusion - like a pinpoint of light to guide you out of the tunnel ? Job, partner, winning the lottery ?  Wink

I ask these things, cause they have been things at times that I looked at myself. When life got really confusing, seemed hopeless and I walked through the world seemingly lost - I wanted someone with a special gift or power to help me see my way out of the maze. No matter how confused or hopeless things can seem at times - it is all a learning curve. We learn in and through it all. I am new to this place and all of this stuff. But I have learned in life - and it's not been easy, most of it, drove me to despair more than once - that the greatest lesson we are to learn is LOVE.

Going all over the place with this and talkin' rubbish. Once years ago. In 1992, I was working in England. I worked in a hospital. I always gave my best to those I cared for - but was deeply unhappy myself. Very lost and confused inside. It had been going on for years and stemmed from experiences in childhood, and my youth and early adulthood especially. Deep inside I was crying out for help, but did not know how to ask or where to go to get it. I also felt guilty for even feeling that way. There were others 'worse off'. But it's good and right to acknowledge when we are in pain, lost and confused. I got so bad at that time. Was January and an exceptionally cold winter, for that part of England anyway. Snow was deep and I hadn't eaten for days and was walking the street - utterly lost and not even feeling the cold. I went to a bridge, a bridge over a train track. I fixated on the track and just saw the trains whish past at high speed. "They'd all be better off without me. They suffer for a little bit, but be better in the end if I were not here." Trying to convince myelf. I didn't need to - I truly believed that standing on that bridge. Awful time - but I felt I'd had enough and couldn't go on. I was going to jump under one of those trains. Then I had this experience. I felt a presence - not seen, but as real as any living person, on my right side. It 'felt' like it was made of radiant light - but I could see nothing. I just knew it, he or she was there. It was complete love and compassion. It was like it was truly sad at what was happening with me and did not want me to do what I was contemplating - but could not actually 'do' anything to stop me, if that was the way I chose to go. Like a voice telling me, "K, go to the phone over there and call home." This was very strong and I didn't want to tell home how bad I'd been. But the courage came from somewhere and I walked back and straight to the phone and called home. It was only the beginning of a longer journey to a happier and healthier life again. But it happened.

My point ?!  Well I had NO intent of coming here and talking about that this morning. But at that moment I was open to hearing something - and listening to it, even though I doubted my sanity at that time. No magical fix. I had, despite not being well at all, to make a choice, decide, get on my feet and walk to the phone and call and get some help. I began to understand why I had been in so much confusion for so many years, the pain and where it came from and what I could do with it. To cut it short - the answers were all inside me, somewhere. I just needed someone else to help me find them. Someone who KNEW me well - not necessarily a 'psychic' - though I am sure at some level my experience on that bridge was 'psychic.'. Not the only experience like that I have had.

Please don't think I am suggesting that your life is that bad.  Smiley

I would ask that you ask yourself what it is now, today even, that you think, believe could change how you feel about yourself and your life, that would begin the road out of confusion ?

Little ramblings like this I have found can help someone out there we don't know and may never know, in this world that they heard.

You look after yourself and know that one choice we can always make is to believe, and from that springs hope and from hope very often - love Smiley I used to think that the bible was a load of crap. I have actually realised that the first two commandments are the greatest wisdom there is. Seek LOVE Itself (God), and in doing this and finding It, or 'It' us, we will truly learn to love our self and our neighbour. We are all One - as 'They' are ONE  Smiley

Sometimes of late I have wondered about the 'afterlife'. It seems something of a misnomer, if we are created as eternal spiritual beings. This 'life' is as much, as as real as life is. Even it is just like a page in the book - it is part of Life itself, eternal life. There is something to be said for looking to the ability to truly live in the moment, and experience it for the gift that it is. I think those always looking to the future or the past are missing the point of that - that it is as important a spiritual lesson to learn as anything else.

God is LOVE

Out of time here.

Ramblin Rose....    over and out !!     Grin

PS  I note it is relationship guidance you are looking for. One of the biggies for 'psychics' it seems. We are all craving love - to love and be loved Smiley You know the answers to that one yourself. Do you love yourself ? Do you love her ? (him) What is it about the 'relationship' or lack of it that needs clarity ? The thing about relationships, 'love' - that ol' cupid's arrow. Once it pierces you - all the wisdom of this world, or the next has little impact - till we have grown past it  Grin

Hi Damon and Jgull2a, it is nice to see you here.

Jgull2a i enjoyed your post very much.  Thanks.

I do believe it is the confusement that makes us seek deeper rather than living a life of complacency.  Although it is the attainment of complacency that we look for.

My love

Greetings 'Newbies,'  Smiley and Hi Caryn,

Glad to see you helping each other out.  Bruce's writings, listed across the top of index pages here an the board one one good way to get a feel for how things are here; another way is just to scroll back through the many index pages and pick out topics you're interested in reading.
By the time you do that you'll probably have more questions---great!  I've been here less than a year and am thankful every day that I've found these people.
Welcome!

Hi Damon,

It is always brave for a person to put their thoughts and their life here on the forum and there are many here who can offer you great advice and support.  You have already received some wonderful thoughts here.

I can give you some obvious help here by telling you that you are welcome to ask Linn for a reading on her forum. Many people can vouch for her. Of course, there are others you may be drawn to speak to on your search.

Relationships can be confusing and our emotions can cause us a lot of pain when we are confused. Some thoughts I have are that you could try several things to clarify your path. One thing that helps me a lot is to write down everything I am thinking...everything, no matter how unacceptable it may seem at times.  Write until you can't write anymore. Then write some more. My thoughts become much clearer to me this way, especially when I go back later and look at them.  I can see my process over time this way, and sometimes we are in a process which takes months or years to complete.

Another thing you can try is meditation. There are many ways to do it. Try some guided meditation with headphones.  Look around on the web for meditations that draw you to them. Try some different ones. Guided meditation is a wonderful tool to use to calm emotions and bring clarity and order to your thoughts.  I can't emphasize this enough...I believe these aids have saved my life at various times, and have helped me to create more happiness for myself many many times.

Have faith in yourself.  You will find your happiness if you look within and follow a spiritual path...there is no doubt of that.

much love to you, blink

Hello Damon:

I recommend that you ask your higher self for help. It'll communicate to you with dreams, images while you meditate, and thoughts. It knows precisely what you need.

I should add that sometimes our needs are fulfilled in a way that is quite different than we expect. That's how things worked out for me.

Well i would have to say its inparticular to two things. Relationships, to be specific soulmates.. I know im to young to really be concerned but i cant help it, i've been let down to many times, and there is a particular situation at the momeny with one female that has carried out over 2 years (to much detail to tell) but 2years of total confusment and rollercoaster ride of feelings is to much to take. (i no it seems like such a trivial problem)

and also my future and where it is headed, what industry, i no exactly what i want to do but is it a good idea or should i look somewhere else is exactly what i really want to no..

it sounds stupid having someone just tell me what is right for me and what i should do but i need to put these things in my mind that torment me daily to rest. if you understand what im trying to say (i cant find the words!)

blink...

thankyou i will most deffinatly be searching out linn's forum!

In regrads to writing all my thoughts and feelings down before i actually tried this once but i made myself feel disgusted at how emotional i was, the stuffi was writing made me feel so wierd!

Guided meditation i will deffinately give this a go.. it has always been an underlying desire to meditate myself into some kind of higher conscoiusness but i expect to much of myself and am to impatient, ill give it a go with headphones tho for sure, you wouldnt have any link would you by the way? i've done a net search before to no avail..

recoverer i wish i could but i never remember my dreams.. and i dont no how to meditate properly so ive got some learning to do.. thanks

THANKYOU EVERYONE YOU'VE BEEN AWESOME FOR TAKING EVEN 2 SECOND OF YOUR TIME TO READ WHAT I HAD TO SAY AND THEN REPLYING!!!

I found that this sometimes helps when it comes to a remembering a dream.

Keep a journal by your bed. After you have a dream, turn on a light, grab your journal and a pen, and see what comes to mind. Often you'll find that memories of a dream come one after the other once you start writing.

While meditating, ask a question, wait for an answer, and see what comes to mind. Often you'll find that what comes to mind applies.

What's most important is to listen to your heart and common sense. Not everybody has to have mystical experiences.

Hello Marcella  Smiley

Yes, I am in Ireland. Born and bred here Smiley I live in Northern Ireland - the North West of the Province - a little place called Derry, or Londonderry. Spent most of my life here living in and through 'the troubles'. Thankfully things have greatly improved of late. What part of Ireland are your husband's relations from ?

Hello to everyone else too Smiley Nice place here and lovely group of people. I'd been spending some time on Christian forums which is nice - good. Dare you mention anything other than Christianity though and you are a heretic, blasphemer, adulteress Wink and to be burned at the stake. Not all - some of 'em Smiley

Was asking today. In the bible it says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God." All things come from and trough the Word. Christ is the Word. All things come through Christ.

They will tell you that no one can come to the Father unless he/she comes through Christ. Yet they fail to note that everything having come through Christ - must return through Christ. All that is therefore is essentially 'Christian' and points the way, ulimately to God. Like talking to a brick wall though some times. Perfect Love casts out all fear - yet so many don't seem to want to acknowledge that their 'faith' is fear based rather than a faith born of Love. Sad really.

Anyway. Thanks for your comments. We're all on a journey and all meant to assist each other as and when possible I believe Smiley There is great truth and wisdom in the words, "it is giving that we receive."

Hope you are all well.

God bless

Smiley

Well, I am very happy to share the afterlife topic in this site don't you? This forum have a great and loving people, it feels like a big spiritual family (the real one) where nobody criticize you in a bad way because of what you believe or the way you express your fears and emotions. Isn't that great? Talk to you later! Chau!
