I'm really sorry to hear that you hate so much. Your hate will bring you down in the end. One cannot advance with hate in their heart.  Let the Light in and realize that Christians are going by what they have been told to believe.

Love and Light, Mairlyn Wink

Marilyn hi, hope you had a good birthday yesterday  Smiley

With all my respect to you i just need to add my pov here; you said:  Let the Light in and realize that Christians are going by what they have been told to believe.

I was not told anything by anyone, i found my Love for Christ all by myself.  Wink

I hope Steve, newwayknight, you do not mind me copying a line you said elsewhere:

Quote Steve,
I just wanted to suggest that the concepts of God and faith are likely alot broader than many of God's followers suggest as they try to put God in a "box" so to speak.  I've always found it amusing that many claim to know all the "rules" or "boundaries" of God, etc.

I think think that comment deserves framing!  Steve, i read this post a few days ago and could not find it again so i did a search of your posts under your profile - i would like to say i think you are a very fine character - all your posts are made with such honesty and gentleness, this site is extremely fortunate to have you here and thank you for being a good friend to Juditha.

May you be comforted with the recent passing over of your beloved Dad who i am sure is very very proud of you.

I think death is liberating; it is said that the moment of death is the most glorious event for the Soul.  If we could see 'on the other side' we would behold a sight beyond our normal senses - the rejoicing, the colours, the music, the angels ready to take the hands of us, the family members who have gone before are there ready for re-uniting. There is honour in death - as it is a honour to be here in earth although i believe we should rejoice at death and cry at birth.

Love and peace.

Day in day out it scares the heck out of me, i dont want to die, i was born with the will to live. I guess the more i learned about different religions and got to the point where my questions couldnt be answered i lost alot of faith over the years, but im only 35 and feel i have to believe in something so i dont have to cry anymore about my worry (phobia?) death.
I watch films like michael, what dreams may come to get temporary hope. but i wish i knew for definate that there is something out there. i yearn to see a ghost, hear a voice, anything to let me know that i have nothing to worry about. Flatliners was a good example of how desperate i am. im petrified of this heart stopping, all i have learned or not in life to be forgotton, people i have met to forget me and visa versa. What can i do? can anyone please help me  Cry

Consider a cryonics contract. As I understand it, they have
solved the "freezing damage" problem...
Now, there IS the "yuck factor" to overcome, emotionally speaking.
BUT - is being frozen (with potential to be reanimated in the future!) any
"creepier" than being buried and becoming worm food, or being burned to ashes in a crematorium?
Something to consider...

Chumley, when will you finally understand that our bodies are but mere temporary vehicles for our spirits/souls in the physical. It doesn't matter what happens to the body after death. You are not your body, never have been, never will be.

Love, Mairlyn

I have also always been pretty terrified of death.  In my mid-twenties my belief in god started to fade.  My mother was in ICU over a year ago - with the outcome not looking good..not good at all.  I for the first time in a long time prayed to please not take her from us yet.  I wasnt ready to lose her - she is all my family had.  She made a pretty miraculous turn-around and is still here with us today.

I just lost my father less than a month ago - and I can say that after going through all of these events and am more and more starting to believe in an afterlife.  I have practiced yoga and a Dahn center where they help you work with your energy - I dont know I am kind of rambling..I guess my point is that I am not so afraid of death anymore.  Still a little...but not nearly as much.  I hope you start to overcome your fear also. Mairlyn,
Perhaps we ARE more than our physical bodies, I'll concede
that much.
BUT - what if THIS life, is the ONLY shot we get at C1, that
we won't pass this way again?
I think I know why people are scared to die. There's so many
great things here, and SO LITTLE TIME to experience them...
And we'll get to spend the rest of FOREVER wondering what
those things are like.
What if there's no FOOD in the afterlife?
No more beer? No more getting drunk or high?
What if there's no more of "something else" (you
know what I mean.)
I'd like to know what it's like to be RICH, Mairlyn. But
what if I never get there (I'm trying!) There's no money
in the afterlife, it's COMMUNISM there... right? I've probably
got about 40 more years (optimistically.) Even if I DO get rich,
how long do I get to ENJOY it (before disease and decrepitude set in?)
SO...
I think I'll go into the freezer when I die, Mairlyn. The
afterlife will come when it comes in any case. For me though,
I think I'll put it off for a few more centuries, or millennia...
(At least I'm gonna try!)
'Nuff said there,

B-man

Welcome to the board. Its natural to fear death but what I have feared more is whether life means anything or is it just pointless?

My personal research over the past couple of years from many different areas of evidences for the afterlife has made me become a fervent believer in the afterlife. I still classify it as a 'belief' because I do not have the certifiable proof that others say they have. I have no reason to disbelieve them because I give them the benefit of the doubt since I am a believer in the evidence.

As far as areas of evidence for the afterlife goes. There are 23 outlined on Victor Zammit - A lawyer presents the case for the aftelife.

http://www.victorzammit.com/

I am not a Christian or a follower of religion (though I am partial to the spiritualist view). I am an 'evidential believer' as I might phrase it. I believe in the legitimacy of the evidence presented through Near Death Experiences, psychics and mediums, those on this board who have had direct experience and most excitingly quantum physicists.

http://www.synchronizeduniverse.com/

I have personally experienced strange dreams and many instances of synchronisity that I am beginning to accept as more than mere co-incidences. I am coming around to the view that when the evidence and experience can be seen as a whole, the belief of the afterlife can become more than belief it can become acceptance of the reality of the afterlife. But I haven't quite reached that stage yet.

But these are only my experiences. Everyone's journey of discovery in this life is different and as fellow human beings we try to share our experiences to help and inform others. I prefer this kind of debate rather than everyone disagreeing or putting other views down. This is why this board is a great place for discussion.

It depends on whether or not you believe in re-incarnation. I believe that our spirit can have more than one earth life. I believe in the evidence for re-incarnation of which there are links to Victor Zammit's website.

Some people don't like the idea of re-incarnation because of a fear of losing that sense of self or that memory of who you are now. It would seem like your personality had died and you had a new one and a new body in a new life. But there are misconceptions about re-incarnation as I understand it. Re-incarnation is not an instant process that occurs immediately after death. Everybody passes over into the spirit world and can choose to come back and live another earth life if this will help their soul's growth.

I believe that fundamentally as incarnated beings and spirit beings we have the free will to make our own choices. We are not forced into our choices and god does not judge us. We judge ourselves through our own choices. If we experience a hell level for a period it is because our own selfishness, greed or own insecurities have drawn us to that level. But although it would be unpleasant we can ask for help and move up to heavenly levels.

God loves and guides us on our spiritual journey. It is up to us to make the most of it now in this life. So we won't have to come back for life after life (not that we are forced to but in order to ascend to our most perfect potential as spirits we do what we must to reach this point)

That is how I see it anyway.
