Blurry folks in photo
Aug 2nd, 2006 at 4:31pm

Greetings,
Looking at a photo taken recently, I noticed that two children standing in front of the feature I wanted to shoot were blurry only where their skin showed. Their clothing--shorts and short sleeved shirt, shoes--- was very clear and detailed. Their faces, arms, and legs were blurred almost as much as if they were moving, which they weren't. They were standing so the distance from the lense was the same for clothes and kids. They looked healthy but their edges were not distinct. Does anyone here know about auras and how they might confuse a camera? Or --- ?
Thank you, bets

Hi Bets, would like to see the photo!
I've made thousands of photos and never saw something like that. But I thought of experimenting with manipulating photos through psychic means.

Yes, we refuse to answer you until we see this photo!   Smiley

I don't think cameras get confused, but I wouldn't know how strange things appear on film.  Don't auras need to be taken with a special camera?

It sounds intriguing.  Your post reminded me of a few photos I have.  A couple years ago we were on a ghost tour of some supposed haunted places.  It all seemed hokey to me, but then at one place when a supposed psychic said she felt spirit activity I took a few photos and there is something in them that shouldn't be there.  Looks like all those other "ghost photos" you've seen.  Pretty cool because I know I didn't alter these, just took them with my regular camera.

I work in photography, if you post the photo I can gladly give you my assessment. Though not a photographer myself cos 1) im rubbish at the creative aspect and 2) its my thing computers are I am well versed in the technical side of things. Actually my job has allowed me to see plenty of 'orb' pics as well.

Hi,

just my first post, even though I'm been lurking for a long time, since I found this forum when looking for answers. After saying that (and giving thanks to all of you for your work supporting this forum), one question.

The other day I saw a TV show where 2 professional photographers said all those orbs are nothing but dust.  How can you be sure this is not so?

Thank you very much!
Somewhere I've got the instructions for posting photos so will find them and post.  If it's been a day or two I may PM anyone who said they'd look at it. I appreciate your offers!

welcome to the forum. you cannot be sure because you must see before you believe but you must believe before you can see.

my personal story is of no relevance to others, about an orb. I not only became an orb, but I saw my deceased grandmother as an orb in a picture. I knew it was my grandmother as she told me it was her as well my mother told me grandmother was hanging about to see if mother was ready to transition yet. I can hear spirits talk. Bruce's books taught me how to hear and how to use my senses to widen my awareness.
so, granted it can be proven some orbs are dust flecks catching the light. but not in my case. especially interesting is to take photos of a room filled with orbs one day, then your mother leaves town and you take a picture of the same room, same camera the next day under the same light conditions and no orbs.
hugs, alysia

Not all orbs in photos are spirits, but some will be.  And of the fake ones, not all are due to dust.  There are lots of reasons for fake orbs, depending on your camera and where you are shooting.  A regular camera can reflect light off many surfaces that can create orb effects.  Outside, sunlight can create them.  If you are using a digital camera, you can often get orb effects if the pixels don't fill in properly.  Also, probably with any camera I'm sure, you can get orb effects easily if you are shooting around any dirt area, and even in weedy and grassy areas you can kick up mold while you walk which also creates orb effects.

I would say that the most impressive orb pictures would be if you had an orb near the same person in several different photos, that to me would be significant and mean something.

Also, true orbs are more dense and bright in appearance, or appear in motion.

I believe lens refraction is another cause. There are sometimes upwards of 20 or more elements inside a lens and these occasionally produce interesting effects, depending.

Rob

A friend has a series of photos of herself and the dogs by the river, but the interesting thing is that the orbs are getting closer in every photo.
If these were dust/mould/reflections, would they not be static?

or the others you mention, are intriguing.
