Welcome back Juditha and Deanna. It is true that when we lose one part of us we feel that we have lost a part of our own Self. I sometimes wonder where some have gone who posted only once, never to be seen again. They were just shy, perhaps, and flew away to land some other place.
I have a friend who says that heaven would be a very lonely place if we were all alone there. Here is a joke for you.
Mother Theresa went to heaven and on the way she saw all the folks in "hell" sitting at a big banquet table eating all manner of wonderful things, roast meats, delicious pastries, etc. etc. In heaven she was delighted to be invited for a meal with God himself. Excitedly, she sat at the table. There she was given tuna, just tuna, nothing else. She was a little disappointed but had a wonderful conversation with God. The next night she was again invited to have a meal with God. She sat at the table and looked again at her plate. Tuna. But the conversation was so wonderful that she forgot all about what she was eating. This went on for night after night. One day she found the courage to speak up: Why, God, do we eat tuna night after night and those other folks eat all those wonderful meals in the banquet halls of hell? God simply replied: Why didn't you ask me before? You know, we would enjoy all those good things too, but you know as well as I do, there's just no sense in all that cooking for one.
I don't know if I told that story right, and I don't remember where I read it. However, it seems to be asking us, what fun would any heaven be if we were there alone?
Therefore, we must make friends and not enemies so we can meet them there.
Heaven is where you find it, isn't it?
So many times I come here to this board and find a little bit of heaven. Sometimes, a little bit of hell. It doesn't matter.
Will there come a day that each one of us can look sqarely at one another and say with all honesty:
You were never my enemy.
And believe it with all of our hearts.
The day we can do that is the day we will truly find a heaven worth waiting for.
