HI Rhonda,

Once, in one of those very real feeling dreams, all of my past dogs were there (I had had them one at at time) and we were enjoying a walk together. I woke with a long-lasting very happy feeling.

Also, the one psychic reading I had, many of my past-over pets and animals were there.

Love, Carolyn

I definitely have.  My cat Haley visited me each day for about two months after he died.  I couldn't see him but could feel him jump on the bed, walk across it, and lay down next to me.

I am glad that you have had this experience too, sometimes I just catch up with them while asleep, sometimes they are here at the house.
It is so nice to see them, especially as they are my family. sometimes its the horses, and sometimes the dogs, not so much the cats.
My little bird came when I was treating in the clinic a few months ago, she was flying around the room. this was where I had hand raised her as a baby, and where she had played.
I have also experienced the two dogs I have now spending time with me in dreams.
My cat actually visited in spirit before she moved in in the physical. I found this strange at first, but after working withher in a healing capacity with patients, I am no longer surprised. all my animals have the same ability.
please tell me more about your experiences as I am keen to hear more

Smiley.. My cat Spanky cross-over 2 years ago and came right back to me 2 1/2 months later.  This cat and I had the strongest bond.. I always called him my little soul-mate.  I have other cats but Spanks was, and is the king of them all.  I had so many signs from him that he was still with me.  Because he was anemic he would try to eat his cat litter for minerals.  So the litter smell is somthing I related to him.  When I got home from the vets office and stepped out of the car, a huge wiff of the litter smell surrounded me.  That night, I had ear plugs in my ears so I could sleep, and I heard purring in my ear.  It rained the next day, and on the stone wall in my back patio was a dry spot in the shape of a cat. The rest of the wall was wet with rain.  I continued to smell the litter smell in places where there was no litter.  I had the visit dreams, the very clear and vivid ones. I had so many signs from him.. One morning upon waking I turned over and got a glimpse of him.  The most interesting thing was one night I was awoken by this thumping by my head. It felt like my cat was chasing his tail on the bed by my head. But no cat was there.  I turned over (don't know why this didn't freak me out) and fell back to sleep. A short while later I awoke and it was still going on. I didn't know then but that was the day Spanky was reborn.  2 months later I adopted "Angel Bella".  I went to the SPCA with the intention of adopting a kitten for my other cat so she would have a playmate.  I really wasn't looking for Spanky. I didn't really know if he would come back that soon or maybe at all.  As I was getting ready to go, I looked at spankys picture and said "Spanky if there's a kitten there that looks just like you, and has the white spot on his back, then I'll know it's you".  And sure enough, I walk in the the door of the SPCA.. and the only kitten fast asleep was an exact duplicate (almost) to my spanky.  My Spanky had this white spot on his back that I would always kiss and say.. that before he was born an angel kissed him and that's why he had it.. When I use to pray to him after he crossed.. I would say "Spanks, if you come back you have to look the same in the face and have the white spot on your back, so I know it's you".. and he did... I wouldn't have thought it was him this strongly if the personality were different.. But my Bella has the same personality as Spanks and all the same old habits.  So that to me is the only proof I need.  I know that love really does conquer all.  I grieved for him in the same way a mother grieves for her child.  It hurt sooo bad, I didn't think I'd make it through.  I read everything I could get my hands on about the afterlife. Before his death I was very interested in the subject but didn't make time for it.  Right before his death and ever since his death I can't stop.  My awareness of the afterlife is immense and my believe has turned to 'knowing'.  His passing and then returning has completely changed me.  Before his death,  I was walking in the clouds (so to speak) and now I'm walking on them.  I feel he came to me to teach me some great life lessons.  I have never had children so without him I would never have learned that kind of love.  And without losing him and having him return, I would never have become so aware about the other side.  I feel so blessed...

Thanks for reading...

I think animals are a part of us; like an extention of our emotional nature, produced in a form we can see and touch and love.
thanks for telling us your heartwarming story Rharris, I smiled to read it. I believe we need experiences like this to remind us to study those afterlife areas and looks like thats what happened to you as you followed your heart to that which you were bonded with.
so did my daughter Dana. she was very attached to her kitty Jay. he got sick and couldn't eat. still she wouldn't put him down. he might get better she said. but he could barely stand up. could not even drink water. finally she took him in to the vet. she'd been keeping him alive with pills, but this was it. still, she carried guilt. day after day it bothered her. once in a while she'll have those realistic dreams or obes..she wll be hanging with her peers during her sleep, like mother like daughter you know. I do the same while sleeping and get glimpses of night activity. shortly after putting Jay down she traveled to her nightly place, and there was Jay who pounced into her arms and they had a true reunion of joyfulness unequaled. upon awaking the grief was healed, and Jay was a frisky cat again which made the healing happen in Dana.
Not real? who would deny that healing is real; that grief can be dissolved through the heart?
it is important to study these areas and be able to accept our healing however it comes, whether you  believe animals survive death or not.
I do believe that as a part of us, animals continue on and I have many stories about them. whatever would we do without animals to love on this planet..hate to even think about it!
if someone will post another story about making contact with an animal, then I will ramble some more about this colt, and my dog Tutti, and Cayenne the orange tabby, and Holly, the guard dog who didn't know how to guard, and...
hugs...

Okay, I take the challenge.... Smiley

I had a cat for 20 years.  She died of natural causes while I was on holiday vacation.  I am truthful when I tell you that I felt her small warm body appear in my arms a few days after returning home.  I was standing beside a table in my living room and I felt her in my arms quite vividly, so that I was cradling her, and had a very pleasant feeling come over me.  It really felt like she was there to say goodbye to me.

love, blink

me too. I'm truthful! lol. my dog snowball, a white chihuahua back in the 70's didn't come home one day. I was young and stupid and though he would never wander far. wrong.
every day I would mourn, whether my stupidity or for my pet I don't know.
one day I was asleep and felt him jump on the bed excitedly, walk up to the pillow and make breathing and slurpy noises, whatever, thats how dogs talk. he even jumped on my body and he had weight. I thought in my dreamy state, oh thank god, he's finally found his way home! I threw the covers off excited to grab him and I saw nothing. then I knew he had probably died and gone to doggy heaven, as the visit had been real enough. I did stop mourning as I could tell he was in fine fetter wherever he was, a very happy camper.
I have more stories if anyone else wants to take a turn? ha ha! love, alysia

Smiley.. Thanks for sharing.. I'd love to hear more stories... Grin

I had two german shephards when I was younger..Mac and Dharma.. It's been 25 years since they've gone.. every now an then I think of them.. One night in a dream I saw Mac..he just came running toward me.. it felt like a realistic dream not the fuzzy kind..so I was sure it was a visit from him saying hello..I woke..and thought where was Dharma.. fell back to sleep..saw Mac again.. and out came Dharma and a bunch of her puppies that she had with Mac...Again, it was a realistic like dream.. I felt really good when I woke up.. Like, I was satisfied in knowing that they are still around and having fun.. and together still after all this time..lol...

thanx Rharris. this thread is neat. I got some vibrations around my neck and ears when I read your latest story, which means to me it was real.

I sometimes get body vibrations when I read people here..probably why I'm addicted here. lol.

ok since you asked.. Grin Wink  my daughter had left Cayenne a male cat with me on the farm. we had coon. they were very hungry coon. we had coyote, hungry too. it had to be one of these. he was always an outdoor cat for many years. the last time I saw him he looked up at me to complain. I had brought another cat home from the humane society, a younger cat and Cayenne was not pleased with my selection. he said to me I'm hungry for wet food. I told him to eat the dry. he said you never pet me. I said, I'm sorry, I have a lot of animals to attend to but maybe I will stroke you later. then he was gone.

I was surprised he didn't come home as he was very much able to take care of himself, had a mean look on his face all the time. a tough guy. so I could hardly believe it he had been taken. I had to find out what happened. I searched my dreams. I wandered in dream into the wooded area next to my field about an acre away. there was an empty halfway house located there. spirit said watch. I watched and there was Cayenne hurrying into the house in the wood. I asked does anyone live there? Spirit said, no, this is the halfway house for animals. the animal keepers will come shortly to pick him up. then I looked into Cayennes mind to see if he was mad at me for not paying enough attention to him. in his mind he was thinking oh boy! this is my very own house that I dont' have to share with the other cats. every day I go and explore the woods I love and come home to sleep in my house. a human will find me soon as I reguire humans, but this is where I am now.

so I surmised that animals, like humans, have a bit of a waiting period and then caretakers come for them.

Cheesy.. Thanks for sharing that Laffingrain...

Here's something I think is a pretty significant sign of my Spanky's return...  Right after Spanky died I had lots of dreams of him.  A few felt like visits.. In one we would  be playing and I would pet him and tell him thanks for making this dream feel so real.. I thought, oh the dr. would be shocked to see how well you look.  Another, I was bending down petting him while he drank water from his favorite water fountain we had. Again, I was thanking him for making the dream feel so real.  At the end of both these dreams he started gagging and choking.  And then I would wake up.. I couldn't figure out why at the end of both of these wonderful dream/visits that he would start gagging/choking..  Well months later, after I got "the new Spanky" Angel Bella.. We were playing one day and all of a sudden she started gagging.. it wasn't the normal furball kind of gag..the ones that would eventually come up.. This went on for days, it happened intermittently and it would be just a gag..no noise.. And it didn't seem she was trying to get up a fur ball. I thought she had something caught in her throat.. So I took her to the vet and they took x-rays and she had a fur-ball the size of a golfball, in her stomach.. she was still just a little kitten at this time.  The dr. said that his cat once had the same thing and since it was so large they would probably have to surgically remove it.. he said it was too large to move into the intestines.  He gave me 5 minutes alone with her, and I sat and looked at her and I felt that I could wait through the weekend and see if it would come out on it's own.  He gave me the laxatone to give her.. I went home and gave her lots of it and laid my hands on her at one point and prayed and imagined the white light.. etc..  A day later, no more gagging.. I took her back in on the Monday and got more x-rays and it was gone..  It must have come out her back end because I never found it on the floor.  The doctor was shocked.. This  then triggered the memory of the dreams where spanky was choking, and I got this overwhelming feeling that it was all a sign that Bella is indeed Spanky...

that was neat Rharris..this way u could avoid surgery which I too believe should be only a last resort.
perhaps in dreams we can be led to alternative healing forms. yes I think Bella and Spanky are the same little light balls, a part of your being.
maybe my little one I have now is Snowball, kinda acts like Snowball.

dreams are good warning symbols too. my daughters have two cats. one likes to prowl busy streets. one time I had a dream it was laying on the floor sick. I called my daughters and said watch out for Pookie.
a week later the other cat got injured by a car we think and came home. they took it to the vet but it died anyway. in the dream I had seen the other cat was injured so confusion can even be in a dream or the real world. but the important thing is the wonderful verification that the physical body is not the only thing which "lives."
blessings and give Bella a big kiss for me!

Wink..Yes.. dreams are great warning symbols.. I've been told and have come to realize that dreams are how I get my premonitions or visits.. I realize too that If I can find a way to get to sleep without a little help from a small dose of a sleeping pill, that I could get more messages/advice or premonitions from my dreams.. But my brain doesn't stop, so I usually take something to help me sleep.

Hey Rharris,

Just thought I would share a short story I heard from a man I worked with who's father reported to him an experience he had after suffering a non-fatal, (but, almost fatal), heart attack... He said that while unconscious he experienced brief blackness followed by scenery opening up before him in the light. He apparently saw his father standing there next to two indescribably beautiful white ferrel stallions. He dealt with horses his entire life, and loved them. Hence, what better greeting than his most beloved animals! Smiley

Grin.. Wonderful.. I love hearing stories like that..  I really believe I'll be surrounded by animals when I cross.. What Heaven that will be..  I watch the tv show "It's A Miracle" almost every night.. And there are so many stories similar to that.  I don't need anymore proof.. I just love to hear it all the time. It's like candy for me;D
