This morning, Sunday, when falling back to sleep in bed, during REM sleep obviously (our most vivid dreams, about 6 hours into deep sleep). I dreamt around 9:00am this morning, easter day, that I was wearing a black mask in my house and holding my family hostage. There was video game machines, like in pizza places, in my house. I was walking by the video game machines, busting them out (their screens) with the back-side of a hammer. My family was walking around as my hostages. I than planned on burning down the house, but my dad walked away quick, started calling the police, and I ran out of the house, ran down the street, etc. The dream than ended.
I than finally woke up in bed (with a jolt). My family and I had lunch at our grandparents house today for easter, etc. I told my family about the dream, and they were confused by it, too.
I have a question: what makes us dream stuff like this? Why, in a "dream," would I wear a black mask, bust out video game machines, and hold my family hostage in our house? The only reason I believe I'd have dreams of busting out anything, is because once (ok, ok, more than once), I popped out car tires when I was in a gang. I don't do that stuff anymore though. I know better now days.
Your opinions on these crazy dreams?

Thanks.
