Yesterday, 8th July, was the second anniversary of the death of my wife and last evening I was with our son, his wife and our two grandaughters (aged 11 and 14) for dinner, during which time we raised a few toasts of wine in her memory.
After dinner, while watching some television, we sat talking about her when the door from the hallway into the lounge opened slowly to its full extent. We looked at each other and my grandaughters both said that their feet felt cold. It was a calm evening, and no downstairs windows were open. Naturally, I told them it was a sign from my wife that her spirit was visiting us - my grandaughters wishing very much that they could "see" her. After a couple of minutes, my son, who was nearest to the door, closed it and the same thing occurred twice more within the next ten minutes or so.
Fortunately, my family are all acceptive of departed one`s spirits existing in the Afterlife, especially as they know about the many ADC`s I had with my wife in the first few months following her death.
Interestingly, this event led us to talk about dreams and my grandaughters both said that in their dreams their nanna is much younger and without any disabilities. I think they now accept they are being visited by her spirit, as a medium had told me she watches over them every night, of which they are fully aware. They were both very close with my wife, who used to look after them very often when they were babies while mum was at work, so a loving bond was well established.
My elder grandaughter then told us in detail about a recent dream she had in which she was flying and left earth`s domain. This had not frightened her. I believe she experienced an astral projection.
If children have an open mind about these matters, discuss them with adults who don`t tell them they are being silly, etc., then I believe this will lead them to experience much more association with spirits and the Afterlife. It took the loss of my wife to start me on my journey of discovery!
Although I know my wife is well and happy in the Afterlife it doesn`t detract from the fact that I still miss her very much indeed.
Just wanted to share this with you all.
Best wishes. roger
