Something Different: Poetry (About Life)
Apr 21st, 2005 at 9:44am

Here is a poem that I wrote about 6-7 years ago, and relates to Life (very simple for a reason)....maybe not the AFTER-life, but what we should do in life that relates to the Afterlife.

The Life That God Gave Us

This is the life that God gave us.....
But we have gotten a little out of touch
Do we strive for innocence or inner sense
The words of happiness felt in every tense
Whether it be future, present, or past
How long will that feeling last....
That feeling..........Love
Is it truly unconditional or just conventional
Omnipotent or simply semidimensional
Judge not maturity or impurity
But be blind to fault and feel Love's reality
We are alive but are we living?????
Free to be locked in an emotional prison
In the life that God gave us...............................

When i was reading this today just to kind of reminisce, it reminds me of the words that Alyisia and Marilyn have given me since coming here and I thought I would share it. LOVE is supposed to be what this life is all about....correct?!?

What a beautiful and most meaningful poem you've written JG.  And yes... love is what it is all about.

Love and peace,

LOVE is what it's all about. I also like to think that LOVE is what holds everything together. Without LOVE, we would all be molecules floating around, nothing to hold US together............but then we wouldn't have been created because we were all created from LOVE.

I LOVE your poem. Wink

With Love,

Hi, JG,

Yes, like the other comments so far, it is a lovely poem. I agree with the sentiments entirely.

However, I don`t totally agree with your comment Mairlyn in so far as would you say that a child created from a rapist is born out of LOVE? I think not.

JG,  thanks for sharing this, i would love to hear more, anything from your voice... poems, fleeting thoughts, stories. I enjoy listening.  Smiley  Tim                                                                                                               .                                                                                         Roger, don't fall into word traps!  Re-read Mairlyn's post and feel (don't think) what it means... I've appreciated your own posts and feel much warmth towards you.  In friendship, Tim

Hi, Tim,

Many thanks for that. I had fallen into the word trap and did what you said - made all the difference.

Best wishes, roger Smiley
