Let me step in here. What you ask, that explorers tap into your Higher Self and guidance, is something I've been playing with lately. I know that people say we are each connected with our own Higher Selves, why do we need outsiders to explore this for us, like psychics?
Well the answer is, it is easy to develop a blind spot from our Higher Self or guidance, because that's what beliefs do, they close off higher energy and info so that we can experience something on Earth without that distraction or wisdom. Also, you may be getting guidance but an outsider can confirm this to you and embolden you to realize that you are, in fact, getting guidance from your HS!
One thing I've notice from tapping into other people's guidance - and this is for living people - is that their "guidance's voice" is distinct from my own inner voice. In fact, it is easier for me to distinguish this from my own guidance which just sounds like my day-to-day thoughts.
  Now whether I can pick up anything useful from your guidance is another story. I started doing this in January, and occasionally I hit something cool. But I don't guarantee any miracles. And, best of all for you, I don't charge a penny.

cool. things are happening! I have come across this quote in my files. don't know where I got it, but thought it noteworthy to understand the concept of lower versus higher consciousness:
1/23/04 we are streams of consciousness; higher consciousness is a stream, the same, of intermittent consciousness, it is not broken, it is time interspersed, the illusion is thus presented that there be a separation between higher/lower consciousness.

so If I may interpret this concept, I'd say the illusion is in time itself, that it is linear, when in reality as the mind expands, it expands "out of the illusion" that time is linear. I get this idea directly from the phrase "it is time interspersed"

I also understand this from the perspective of frequent precognitions of my personal life. happy exploring y'all!
