Shivers?
Mar 17th, 2005 at 11:25am

Hi everyone,

I've just recently had something new happen to me when I first lay down to go to sleep.

Right as I get inbetween sleep and awake I have waves of 'shivers' or 'goosebumps' go through my body.  It's not exactly like when you get the shivers, but the hair is rising all over my body and it goes through waves and intensifies with each wave that goes through..almost like there is an unusual wind going through.  It keeps intensifying, and I just try to relax and let it go and right when I think I can't take anymore it stops...or I fall asleep.

The first time it happened I thought maybe I was coming down with a fever or something, but I haven't and it continues to happen every night (about the last 2 weeks), but only when I lay down to fall asleep, not at any other time.

I'm interested to hear if anyone else has experienced this, or if anyone has any suggestions as to what it might be?

Jenn

Hi Jenn,

It sounds like energy to me.  I have these 'energy bumps' go through me when I connect to spirit or when I read something that really resonates with me.

It sounds like you may be getting ready to OBE.  Just go with it and see what happens. Winkj

Hi everyone - I am so so so new to this and trying very hard to learn everything that I can.  I too experience shivers but they are random and I usually find that they occur whan I am at a 'crossroads' in making a decision - or when I am about to do something that is probably not the best thing to do.  I believe it is my late Husband Mike giving me guidance and direction as I have asked; but still in the back of my mind I wonder if I am loosing my mind.  As a teenager (I am 56) I had a tremendous interest in the Spiritualist Church and received much support and many 'visitors'.    Sadly however, it was only a teenage fad or something similar and I never really followed through with it.  Here now though, I have recently lost my wonderful Husband and I am so grateful for these boards which are confirming faith in the afterlife.  Could someone please tell me what is OBE (in the previous post "sounds like you are getting ready to OBE").  Thank you.  Angela

Hi Angela,

Welcome to this forum.  An OBE is an out of body experience. Wink

Patanjali's Yoga Sutras refers to these as manifestations of kundalini. Similarly, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika. Astral projectors like Carrington and Muldoon etc mention them as predecessors to astral projection. They usually an indication that your kundalini is awakening,  that you're a highly evolved soul, and could rather quickly develop further abilities such as astral projection, soul retrieval (check Bruce's book #5) etc.

Thank you both for the information on the shivers.  My next question therefore, and out of ignorance for which I apologize, is..........so what do I do when this happens?
I know they are real - they are my guiding force right now - if that makes any sense to anyone.
If I am close to the 'next level' of happenings - how can I insure that I am prepared and ready?

Thank you everyone for your replies  Smiley

Predecessor to obe...that would be awesome, hopefully I remember them...I tend to click out like nobody's business everytime something cool is happening.

After saying that it only happens at night, I actually had it happen as I was sitting at the computer last night.  They seem to be stepping up their occurance, especially since I took notice to them.

An indication that my kundalini is awakening, how awesome would that be!  I would be thrilled  Grin  I guess it's just exciting to think that *something* is happening or progressing instead of being stalled out like an old car.

Fantastic feedback you guys {{hugs}}
