Sounds of Silence? By definition, silence is the complete lack of sound--usually in terms of the physical.
But enlarging that to the metaphysical, sound is a form of vibration. Vibration is another term for movement, and movement is a metaphor for change.
Everything is in vibration, movement, and change constantly.
The only time true silence existed, was before The Source "moved" (changed) and became an active Creator and creative force. Before that moment, there was a stillness, a silence, a void of potential. Just there, all alone, feeling one continuous state of aching loneliness and desire for companionship, wondering/intuiting "Is there more than this darkness?...There IS more than this..".
It was when "God", the Source was polarized to what we might term the Yin or Feminine.
When Source "moved", it consciously experienced for the first time, it's inner Masculine/Yang side. Movement, vibration, activeness, LIFE burst forth from it's dark womb. It divided Itself into the many, the many parts with their own will, self awareness, yet it also kept it's own original, unique nature and self awareness also. The First Disk, which created the first "probes".
Ever since then, Source has been a little more Yang than Yin, more active than passive, but the silence, the passive, the stillness is still there in it's, and through it, also our remembrance.
It's the balancing side, the side that remembers complete homogeneous Oneness. But it really wasn't Oneness as we know and can experience it now, as there was only one being, one mind, one will, all alone unto itself (a very unsatisfactory, unfulfilling state).
What we see there in the link, is not silence in the true sense, only in the physical sense, but what is really happening is non verbal communication back and forth, and that is activieness, movement, vibration, change, it is Consciousness interaction. The interplay/interaction of the Yin and Yang, but more Yang than Yin.
The Yin comes in the moments of relative quietness, when one is listening and being receptive to the communication of others, but like Source itself, the process is ultimately a bit more Yang than Yin.
Because this world is so loud, so full of inharmony and borderline chaos within humanity, it's important to tune out or down the physical and tune deeply within. It's not so much silence, as a change of focus, but in deep meditation, that original state and remembrance of silence/stillness can be experienced. And because it's "known" (known and experienced from the beginning), it's comfortable, but both Source and our Spirits seem to be more interested, deep down, in experiencing new, different, and unique states. In Creating, in moving, in change, in expanding, and growing, in ever increasingly complex and multifaceted interaction/reaction.
Because of the Law of Like attracts, begets, and resonates with Like. Like usually also likes and prefers Like on the deeper levels (beyond personality polarities and seeming opposites).
So a consciousness that is more polarized to the Yin within, will tend prefer and like the Yin in life, just as a Yang polarized consciousness will tend to prefer and like that which is Yang in nature on the deeper levels.
But because we need our opposite polarity for balance, we will always find ourselves drawn to and in interaction with those of the opposite charge, in an unconscious seeking to be balanced, merged, Whole.
Without the Yin, the Yang wouldn't have come into being, and without the Yang, the Yin would still be lonely, dissatisfied, unfulfilled. Neither should be put above the other. Yet, because of our own inner imbalance, this happens all the time on all levels. And what we see in physical is a reflection of the larger reality--a microcosm of the macrocosm. In the polarization of gender, in the interplay of relationships, or the fact that all human bodies are first female before they potentially become male. In the day and the night.
