KaramaLars/Carl/Harvey/Etc,
Programming implies an agenda implanted in the subconscious. While TMI does make use of relaxed hypnotic techniques, they leave it open ended for your experience. Thus, people report speaking with a dead relative, or floating out of their body above the bed, but nowhere are they given a verbal command to say "you are now going to speak with your dead grandma."
The typical TMI tape has the person relax deeper and deeper, in a secure way, without being "programmed" what to expect (I know, because I have several TMI recordings). True, TMI has its own belief system of where the frequencies lead, etc. So yes, TMI is its own belief system of sorts, but an open one, which leads the listener free to come away from the session with whatever he/she brings to it.
Manipulative hypnosis for a purpose implants a suggestion into the listener's mind when they are in a suggestible state. The hypnotist then uses the creatie power of the subconscious to let the listener bring his command into being. TMI tapes do not have an agenda like that. Not without the participant's request (they do have tapes for healing, pain relief, etc.).
Hypnosis, in my opinion, is direct contact with the subconscious mind (that part of us that interacts with a stronger creative energy) and as such is a powerful spiritual tool - not scientific at all. It is a joke to call it a science, as Western science doesn't really have a place for the notion of a real "mind" as a discreet indentifiable entity.
