Excluding sadistic, child and extreme pornography, does it affect our afterlife?

I guess to some extent that would depend on the individual in question and just how much attachment and focus was involved.

In his earlier days, the well known nonphysical explorer Bob Monroe came upon the "Pile", a sort of sub-dimension or 'nonphysical consciousness level' wherein all the former humans in same were obsessed with sex and sexual gratification, but without physical bodies they could not "get off" in that way anymore.

Yet, they were so attached to this former human-animalistic drive and focus that they just wasted their time trying constantly, hence one large squirming pile of stuck humans.

I suspect Bob had the experience of viewing this for some personal reasons.  His astrological chart is an interesting study in some of his own tendencies and focuses.   For a brief example, he was born under the Sun Sign of Scorpio, with the traditional ruling planet of same (Mars) in Leo, along with other strong Leo focus.

These two sign indications and consciousnesses, Scorpio and Leo are the most focused on sex, and both when strong, often indicate a lot of body vitality and urge in that area.

Or in other words, Bob was a man with a strong sex drive and with strong tendencies to focus on sex and sexual energy.

His Guidance was giving him a big "heads up" (to pun for a moment) about the limiting nature of too much focus on the sex drive.

I think Bob got the point and was rather turned off by the whole pile experience, and probably made him think rather deeply about some of these animalistic human attachments.

Partaking in sexual energy and experience CAN be creative and expanding in nature, if a real, deeper, and bigger Love is involved along with the animistic lust/sex drive hormonal part.  Two people who really love each other, and who express it physically will not necessarily slow down their vibratory rates and in some cases can raise both through such holistic merging.

But when is Love ever involved with pornography?   It's a money making business that caters to our most primitive and animalistic drives, which are completely based on the body physical and which involves no connection to expanded levels of consciousness e.g. to "Soul", "Spirit", Love, etc.

Btw, having had some experiences with redirecting this powerful energy we call the sex drive--i would say the highest and most spiritually effective use of this powerful energy is redirecting it to higher channels in the body (to the Pineal and especially the Pituitary glands), for a higher purpose.

I went through a period once wherein for awhile i was really disciplined and consistent with meditation, and i was having a lot of long, deep, intense and very Love centered meditations.   One of the 'side effects' which i had not antifipated from this practice, was the complete loss of my sex drive and focus.

Yet, i cannot begin to describe in words how good i felt and how much extra energy and awareness i had for that relatively short time.  I wish i could maintain that state indefinitely, and i would gladly give up sex to feel that way all the time.   Yet, i have earthly responsibilities and one is having a wife, and having contracts with her and with other Consciousnesses who will incarnate as my children.  I'm hoping that after we have the children we are meant to have, that my wife will also see the spiritual-energetic benefit to non forced celibacy and practice same with me.

Thanks for your reply Justin, very interesting.

So if I understood well, the danger is if one becomes addictive or obsessed about it because in the afterlife, those same obsessions/thoughts will kind of push us to be with others with the same vibrations/thoughts etc....unless we stop focusing on it and move away.

I agree, there is nothing loving about pornography. So the logic tells me that it can only lead to something negative rather than positive.

I also guess, then, that the occasional jump into pornography just to satisfy our animalistic instincts wont be of much harm, if this does not become a frequent focus or addiction...

Cheers

  Very well and concisely said!

Probably not, but again depends on the individual and individual situation.  For some, a little always leads to more, and for others a little is enough.  That must be determined within self.

Generally speaking, it is far more harmful to try to overly suppress those drives too much.  This is why celibacy in the Church and the like is such a bad idea generally speaking.

It's too "forced", and these are strong drives which need some venting, unless they are being consciously redirected via creative activities and attunement.   If they are artificially and forcefully suppressed, controlled, etc. it can cause a warping of the psyche to an extent.

Hope the difference i'm trying to outline, makes sense?

Yes Justin, it makes lots of sense, thanks mate Wink

This site is blowing my mind, I'm really looking forward to my adventure into the afterlife knowledge.

It's great that there is a place like this, as in real life, if I try to speak about the subjects discussed here, they think I'm a weirdo or something and kinda laugh me off.

Well, maybe I am a bit of a weirdo  Tongue

I tried to respond to this post but the site electronically banned me when I tried to post. There wasn't anything bad about what I wrote.

Hi wonderer,

I can't see it being a problem unless a person has an obsession with porn. In normal life if you have an obsession with it, it will cause you problems here and so it will in the afterlife.

I look at porn occasionally but I can go without it, if I don't want to look at it I won't.

It's when you're addicted when it becomes a problem. The same goes for drugs, alcohol, money etc. As long as it doesn't control your life then all is well, in my opinion.

Since the afterlife is only our conscious mind existing on a mental plane, then it would be fair to ask how pornography effects a person's current life?

If the distraction of sex and physical gratification are so all encompassing while alive, it is likely that these same attractions and distractions will be felt after we shed our bodies - albeit without the physical/hormonal factors.

So, I agree with those who say it is only a problem if it is an obsession.   It is an indulgence for transient pleasure.   It may be a way to release tension, but taken to an extreme, (as with anything) we can lose our way.

I think it is especially important to note that mandating celibacy never works, as a person is likely to follow his/her passions, but perhaps not to so in an open way.  I think it is also important to note that unlike some fundamentalist views of various religions, our ultimate post-mortem judgement comes from within ourselves - not an outside source.  So the idea of being condemned for viewing pornography is silly; rather it would be the person, looking back on the behaviour might recognize how much time was wasted that could have been spent on other earthly activities.

Below is what I tried to post before. I'm altering certain words so the spam blocker won't block it. In some cases I replaced "p" with "c" or added brackets. I don't know which words the system blocked.

Robert Monroe tried to retrieve a man who was a part of a sex pile and couldn't because the man was too attached to sex.

Out of body explorer Jurgen Ziewe also wrote about an astral realm that was populated by se[]-addicted spirits.

Why do women become corn actresses? Going by what I read many of them were moleste[d] as children. Taking part in corn films is an unhealthy way of dealing with their trauma.

Many corn actresses are into drugs. They make corn movies in order to support their addiction.

I read that a lot of young ladies make just one corn film, find the experience quite traumatizing, and never make another corn movie. They spend the rest of their life worrying that somebody they know will see them in a corn film.

Many people are forced to become prostitut[]s. I wonder how many are forced to act in corn films.

If nobody purchased corn the above wouldn't take place.

I doubt that the people who make corn movies truly care about the people they get to act in them. A person who loves his (or her) daughter or sister wouldn't want his daughter or sister to act in a corn movie. In the interest of unconditional love isn't it best to view all people in the same way?

Regarding the drug addicted actresses, some sources of information say that spirits (including non-human entities) attach to drug addicted people and influence them in a negative way. Could the same be true for corn addicts?

Love is one kind of energy and l[]ust another. If a person becomes too addicted to lus[]t he might have a harder time living completely according to love.

recoverer,
"If nobody purchased corn the above wouldn't take place."

If nobody drank juice, no body would drink juice, but people drink juice. Heavy and hard upbringing is a recipe for further heavy and hard life experiences. Would have thought the higher selves knew about this by now.

"I doubt that the people who make corn movies truly care about the people they get to act in them. A person who loves his (or her) daughter or sister wouldn't want his daughter or sister to act in a corn movie. In the interest of unconditional love isn't it best to view all people in the same way?"

Money's my guess for where lots of the care goes, makers and shakers. Even for all the love a mother/father has for his son/daughter going into corn business, farming or plowing, it's their lives, or the other way around if it's the parents. Otherwise, it'd be one party fencing in the other party. Family bonds isn't an excuse to relieve them of their experiences. I don't like 'what's best for you, because I know better', even though sometimes that's very true. Can't get people to know it without them getting to know it. Should the uncaged bird ever come back home again, there'd be no problems if love was as strong as presented. A lot easier said than done of course for someone harbouring much care and great love for the concerned. But with an expanded view of who you are, more than a body, so comes greater challenges and responsobilities in terms of letting your loved ones live their lives. Especially after any concerns have been voiced, and the advices given if the recipient agreed, but still the concerned goes into hump business.

The part about unconditional love sounds like conditional love in fine clothing.

"Love is one kind of energy and l[]ust another. If a person becomes too addicted to lus[]t he might have a harder time living completely according to love."

The person looping in lust might have a harder time, but it seems there's harder times still for everybody to live according to love, no matter what. Talking about living completely according to love doesn't make one have the upper hand.

Speaking for myself, when i use to occasionally look at porn, i noticed that it had an automatic negative affect through slowing down my vibrations.  This can be called negative and limiting "grounding".  Unlike opening to a more PUL like Love which expands perceptions, the above narrowed and distorted perception.

Then i switched over to only having and occasionally looking at some pics of my wife.  It didn't slow down my vibrations as much, probably  because my love oriented feelings toward my wife got brought up some in connection with her image, even though much lust was involved.

But even that i felt lacked and it's extremely rare for me to masturbate anymore.  If those strong animal drives and hormones of the body build up in me, i prefer to wait till my wife is also available and interested, because for one i get more out of seeing her pleasure than in just experiencing it bodily myself.

As mentioned earlier on this thread though, i know there is even a wiser and more expanded way, but right now that can't be part of my path because it would cause more problems than not.   I know that The Teacher lived and practiced the wiser and more expanded way, and lived, died, and resurrected as a physical virgin.    But it's important to point out, in his case, unlike with most Priests, etc, is that it wasn't forced.   It came natural through his deep meditations and attunement to PUL.

As i've learned about myself, and through my observations of others, we humans have an amazing ability and capacity to delude ourselves to varying degrees about our various attachments and material focuses and drives.  I suspect what i wrote about myself in the above, may also apply to others relatively depending.

Any activity and focus we partake in that slows down our vibratory essence, weakens us spiritually and keeps us disconnected from full Source realization.  We can keep on choosing to be just human and stuck, or we can choose to become so much more then.

As The Teacher said a long time ago, "Don't you know, you are Gods--Gods in the making."

We are only Gods, when we act like and live like God, for that is according to the Law of Like attracts, begets, and resonates with Like.  One of those Gods aka Co Creators came down here awhile back, and if there was porn back then, be rest assured he would have never looked at it though he may have been tempted.

While it is not well known, he did fall in love briefly with a beautiful singer, but despite his and her aching heart and strong feelings for her and vice versa, he decided that to example Love Divine would require him to not marry and focus on personal love.  Plus, it would have been irresponsible of him to have had a wife and children having known what his life path and destiny was.

That was one of his hardest tests and temptations to overcome when he was developing self to full completion again.

I think it is only the accumulation of our intents, which change our internal state of being that ultimately affect us in the afterlife. External events themselves fade from memory, at least eventually, as one progresses through the stages of becoming acclimated in the non-physical realms.

Pornography can be either moral or immoral depending upon intent. Furthermore, morality only applies when we are interacting with others. This means one cannot act morally or immorally towards one's self, as long as the action does not affect others. Albeit there are very few decisions one can make that does not affect others.

One example of moral, loving intent is two consenting adults using pornography to enhance their sexual relationship. It's the loving intent that would affect their consciousness, their being, rather than the activity itself.

Well, thinking further about it, there is nothing loving about pornography. If we act on our own, then it could be an act selfishness, as in, out of context.

Isn't sex supposed to be an act between two loving people, to bear children, or to bring two loving people closer together physically? If one act by himself, he/she is also depriving the other.

But again, there are different situations. Like someone living by himself and needs to vent the animalalistic instinct. Or maybe one of the partner is sick for a long time.

So, like you guys said, I guess it depends on the situation. However, after all, it only brings a negative feeling, at least, its how I see it.
