  I think they are more involved with this world and some of the negative patterns in same, than many would like to even consider.  Yet, they are allowed to interact and influence to a certain degree so far, because of the respect of freewill and to some extent they are part of our overall process of growth.

For the last part, again it's not like they were put there for that, but it's something that's arose, sort of a "karmic" development, that once attracted, needs to be faced and dealt with. 

p.s., i feel some similar sense of urgency on part of guidance/my disk, etc. to get my butt into gear and get intune as much as possible within this life.  There are more specific reasons for that, that i know of, but this reply is already long enough as it is.
