Guides, Guidance
Jun 23rd, 2011 at 12:01pm

I was recently reading a thread on another site, and it reminded me strongly of an experience that Bruce Moen talked about in one of his books.

Some of the details are a bit fuzzy now, so anyone with a more clear remembering please chime in.

Anyway, i remember that Bruce met a woman who was having some issues energetically.   The woman was a sensitive, medium type.  Bruce investigated nonphysically, and found out that her "guide" was part of the issue or trouble she was experiencing.

Turns out that her "guide" wasn't much of a guide in the helpful sense of the term, and was very disconnected from PUL, and was having a lowering affect on the woman's energies.  Sounds like this nonphsyical dude was quite negative and immature actually.

The woman was very attached to her 'guide' (or having a guide?) and didn't want to hear any of this.   Obviously she was contributing to her own problems to an extent and we can't place all the blame on the immature nonphysical involved with her.

If i remember correctly, this is also the same experience that Bruce talks about the black tar energetic and pain experience?

It's experiences like these and others, which remind why it's so important that when one is requesting guidance during a receptive  state, that one specifically asks and intends for the help and guidance of only the most PUL attuned consciousnesses.

These might "send" a less perfectly PUL attuned guide to you temporarily, but in any case you're in good hands if you sincerely feel and ask for this kind of help.  In other words, they know what they are doing.  Also, the more you open up to really feeling love in the PUL kind of way, the more you automatically co-create connections with these more expanded Guidance consciousnesses and levels of being.

Or, like the woman in Bruce's book, you may find yourself attuning to forces not best for self's growth.   It's a mistaken idea that our Greater self/Disk/I-There controls everything that happens in our life.

We have a measure of freewill even from our Greater self, and we are allowed to mess up and slow down our growth patterns.  Plus, there is the listening factor...if we aren't listening to our Greater self, it can become mighty hard for our Greater self to help us out in a more deeply affecting or consistent way.   Ultimately and either way, we will eventually get to the same destination, but the question is sooner or later.

We can experience sooner or later, relatively speaking, and it's all up to us.  Personally, it just makes more sense to me to choose sooner than later in this process because it's not all about the little self.  The more you open up to PUL within, the more it helps the rest of stuck and suffering consciousnesses to open up to PUL.  It's like a chain reaction, and the more who complete this process the easier for all it becomes.

One can be inclusive, without allowing stuck and non PUL attuned nonphsycials to so influence one's energetic patterns.  You can interact with and love these individuals, but looking to them for guidance and letting them have some control over you and your life is a really limiting choice.

Would you be limited, or free?

Could you give us the page numbers of this book experience?

Sure, eventually.  I recently moved and much of my stuff is still in storage.  I would have to find my B.M. books and then figure out which book and where this account is.  So, might take a little while.

Justin:

I agree that when it comes to making contact with guidance we need to make certain we are connecting to a genuine being of love and light. I don't believe it is simply a matter of what our intentions are because sometimes people with good intentions get fooled.

There are four main reasons I believe my guidance (which to some extent is my higher self) is benevolent:

1. The nature of the messages I have received. They always serve a positive purpose. Also, even though I have received clues about how things work, the messages haven't been about getting me to believe in a particular belief system. I'm mainly provided with hints and perspectives.

2. The assistance I have received has helped me grow spiritually. For example, it helped me get rid of heart chakra blocks that interfered with my opening up to divine love.  It helped me get over my fear of unfriendly beings.

3. When I'm in contact with such guidance I feel expansiveness, a really nice feeling of peace, and a love-based energy that has very positive qualities. Also, I make contact at source level. The beings I connect to abide at the same level as my spiritual essence. Unfriendly beings on the other hand have seemed like objects of perception.

4. Because of what takes place when I help out with retrievals and such. Such activities couldn't take place in the way they do if I didn't have a connection to beings of love and light.

I believe a person should always be dillegent about discerning the kind of being (s) he (or she) is in contact with.  It is also important to realize that even though one can make contact with friendly beings, this doesn't mean that one will never make contact with unfriendly beings. Therefore, each message received needs to be discerned.

I have found that many people who are listening to their guides have in my opinion rather immature ones. Better immature ones than no guidance at all though...right? Maybe not.

I think Frank DeMarco said something in the style that his guides did their best to tell him something along the lines in what he believed, as he otherwise had decided not to believe in his guides, if they didn't delivered what he expected.

So to avoid having him stop listening to them, they went for a second (?) best choice.

So exactly were the problem lies can be a good question. Smiley

I find it difficult to discern the difference between one's own gut feeling (intuition) and a separate guide with a defined personality leading us somewhere.

The only point of reference I've experienced personally happened when a deer jumped in front of my car (much to my horror) about 6 years ago.  I saw one cross the road as I drove down a winding country road.  Just then, in my mind's ear a voice said: "where there is one, there is many."

Just then, a large deer jumped from the brush out of my line of site on the right side and slammed into the hood of the car as it tried to jump over it.  It was awful.  I'm sure the deer was wounded, but it got away, and I spent quite a bit of time searching for it, convinced it had broken bones, etc.  I felt awful, and still do to this day.

However, that voice seemed to be a different voice.

Now to contrast this to using intent to problem solve, etc., I will often take a vexing issue or question, and apply intent while meditating to come up with an answer.  Sometimes, in the "10" state of meditation, I will suddenly have insight into the solution for my problem.  It is as if I had accessed the world wide web of the collective unconscious and come up with the right answer.  Invariably, information obtained during deep meditation is helpful to me.  Yet I don't view it as being given to me by an individual guide.  It is more what I view as my connection to the deeper levels of consciousness.

I take it as a given that guides exist simply because others have experienced them.  Maybe its my inner beliefs or world view, etc. but I haven't had more evidence of guided than that one episode those years ago.  And if it were a guide, I wish he/she had spoken up sooner and more forcefully.

Doc:

I've had experiences similar to the one you shared. One time I was driving home from work and wondering how to get over a limiting thought pattern. I heard a voice say, "look behind you." I looked in my rear view mirror and there was a VW (Volkswagen). For me, a VW symbolizes "volition will."

I used to believe that making contact with a guide would mean that I would receive all the answers I want. It hasn't worked out that way at all. Why not? Because a guide that is worth being in contact with understands how important it is to put in self-effort.

There have been numerous times when I asked a question, didn't receive an answer, put a lot of effort into figuring out the answer for myself, and then found out more thoroughly that way than if I had been provided with a quick answer. On some occasions I have asked for a confirmation of what I figured out on my own and have received a confirmation.

I believe that a genuine guide would also nudge us to do what you do when you tune into stage 10 meditation (I haven't heard that term) and connect to universal knowledge.

I become suspicious when a person receives too many details from a guide.  For the most part, as I stated above, guides know that it is better if we find out a lot of things for our self. There might be exceptions; however, people who have supposedly received a lot of information often contradict each other.
