Hello, I am new here
Jun 4th, 2011 at 11:41pm

Hello,

My name is Elaine and I am new to the forum.  I have been reading through the posts and find this website very interesting.

I lost my boyfriend to suicide and even though it has been a while now it is something that has always stayed with me and I know that it always will.

The thing that I really want to know is that there is life after death and that he is happy where he is.  It is like I want so much to believe that we live on after death and then the doubts will begin to creep in.  I hope that makes sense.

Thankyou for reading my introduction post,

Elaine  xx

Hi Elaine,

Welcome to the board.  Sorry to hear you lost your boyfriend, especially to a suicide.  That must be very hard to accept, but I hope you will find something that confirms what you want to believe, that we do live on.

Try reading the articles Bruce put in the links, try the contact exercise, and read his books.  And there are a lot of wonderful contributers here who can give positive reinforcement for what you're searching for.

Have you had any contact with your boyfriend, even in dreams?  Have you tried?  You've probably already been receiving bits and pieces but want more proof of real contact.

Yes your doubts make sense, and I think we all still have them from time to time.  I know I do, despite all the experiences I've had.  I guess we just need to keep having experiences until all the doubt gets removed and replaced.  It can be frustrating at times, but I love the journey and the process.

Hi Vicky,

Thankyou so much for your kind reply.

I have had a few experiences, I keep meaning to write them down so I have them to hand to read through.

I have had dreams about him.  Two of which stand out to me and that were quite vivid.  The first being where he was sitting down and I remember he was wearing a chain around his neck and the bit I couldnt really understand was that on the chain was the letters that spelt the name Jesus, but they were back to front so the name was facing towards my boyfriend.  He never said anything in the dream except he just stood up and came over to me and hugged me.  I remember feeling a lovely sense of peace when I woke up.

The second dream was he held my head in his hands and said to me "I adore you".

At one stage I was dreaming about my Mum quite frequently which for me was unusual.  My Mum is in spirit also.  I decided to have a mediumship reading done which was done by telephone.  The first person the reader brought through was my Mum and I was told that she was bringing through with her a young male energy.  The reader told me that his death was due to suicide.  Another thing which I remember is he told me that my boyfriend was showing him a motorbike.  In life he liked motorbikes and said that he wanted to buy one, although he never got around to doing that.

The strange thing was that after having my reading I stopped dreaming about my Mum.  It was as if she was coming to me through my dreams to get my attention.  She always liked my boyfriend and and she would know how much I love him so maybe she brought him through for me.

Sending love,

Elaine   xx

Dreams are important, I think, because they are usually the easiest way to get through to us.  If we look at them as real contact, despite their overlays of interpretation, it's like opening the door for more real contact.  I think you should start writing them down so you don't forget them.  They stay vivid but can be hard to remember we had them.  I always get surprised reading over old journals I've kept about dreams and OBEs.

I just wanted to say thankyou to Vicky for taking the time to reply to my first post on this forum.

I am new here and posted on June 4th.  There have been 87 views on my message and only one (that is Vicky) has replied.

I apologise if my post caused any kind of offence in any way.

But once again, thankyou to Vicky.

Oh Elaine, you are so welcome.  And there was nothing you said that anyone could take offense at.  There are so many kinds of people here and not everyone will respond to everything they read.  But it's nice to know that that many people are reading what you write!

Believe it or not, you are touching people with your personal thoughts and experiences, even if they don't say so.

I just love making people feel welcome here because of the way in which I was treated when I first came to this site in 2005.  I was welcomed so warmly and have seen people come and go over the years.  Hopefully you'll feel comfortable here in sharing your experiences and responding to others.

I often don't get a lot of responses to some of the things I post and that's ok--I know that just because something wasn't said, it doesn't mean it wasn't felt.

Love,
Vicky

Hi Elaine,

First of all I'm sorry for the late reply, I had read your post before but I don't get a lot of time (I have just started a new job so my minds been on that this week).

I am certain that there is an afterlife due to what has happened and has been happening after I lost my son back in march, he was 15 months old.

I won't post what has happened here but I will suggest that you look at my post history and you will see some of it there, they are pretty astounding in my opinion but I don't know how it looks to someone who wasn't there to experience them, if you know what I mean?

The only thing I can say is I have no reason to make things up and I wouldn't convince myself that these happenings were my son and not some other explanation. That's not healthy, they are 100% true to my word.

I must also state that my son is not the first person I have lost, I lost my dad to suicide 10 years ago, my granddad 2 years ago and my nan nearly 2 years ago.

I had no contact with any of them since they died but I wasn't really close to them to be fair, I think that has a big impact on this.

I think I saw my father once, I definitely saw something for sure but I'm not certain who it was. Other than that though I had nothing.

Don't take my word for it but, I think suicide does affect this sort of thing. Basically I felt nothing but anger for my dad when he did it and if he did try to contact me after then I would have greeted him with hostility, so it makes sense why he hasn't tried or maybe he has and I couldn't pick up on it, I don't know for sure.

As for my son it is a different story, I didn't ask for any signs it all happened by accident. Thinking back I was hoping that he was ok without realising I was doing it and I got that information in abundance, as well as more than I could ever ask for. I don't look for signs, things just happen when they are least expected, not that they are ever expected lol.

My partner is also experiencing things now too more than I am now, which is great as it was all on me initially, I don't know why this was. But I don't question this as it's pointless.

I hope my post is of some use to you and that I make sense, it helps me make sense of things by writing my experiences down here.

Also, I see you have had some dream experiences. Some of the more powerful signs I have had have been dreams, although I don't think they are strictly dreams as they feel real and have given me an overwhelming sense of peace. You can certainly trust them.

On another note, I see you're in the same neck of the woods as me, I'm in the West Midlands too although I have put Staffordshire lol, it's a small world isn't it?

Thanks,

Andy
