Seraphis1,

Some advice I can give you is that you're making it way more difficult than it is.

First, have an intention.  Second, learn to simply pay attention to your breathing.  Breathe naturally and comfortably, but just pay attention to it as you mentally and physically relax.  You can be sitting or lying, doesn't matter.  Once you begin feeling a shift in relaxation (which begins to happen naturally the moment we close our eyes), then remind yourself of your intention, and then let it go.  Third, pay attention to what comes next in your awareness.  It will be a direct response to your intention.

Next, allow yourself to just feel, rather than to be thinking, judging, and analyzing.  When I read your posts, this is where I can see you make things too complicated.  I also see that you seem to have expectations of what an OBE should be like.  You may be basing too much expectation on the experiences of your mentors.  Instead of having expectations, just go along with whatever experience YOU have, just allow yourself to FEEL and BE without judgement.

Well this one was a classic Moen idea that imagination turns into reality. This was about to happen... I was very deep and a red light and a deep yellow light started moving toward me... unfortunately, I thought what is that instead of letting it reveal itself... naturally it evaporated and I popped out of the altered state.

Hmm, that's interesting.  It's ok to wonder because that's curiosity.  Try this:  Think about what it feels like to be feeling a state of curiosity.

So, next time you are out there, bring that feeling with you like a state of energy.

Hi Seraphis,

Sorry, I can't think of any connection with the gold frame or what it could be in reference to.

Hi Vicky: This is very subtle but, this advice is so effective... my current ego structure is trying to throw a monkey wrench into the proceedings... first as I was about to settle into my relaxation procedure and I get a big cramp in my right toe structure... out of the blue... I don't recall that happening any time... then as i am about to exit someone bangs on my door ignoring my meditation in progress sign and demands I answer a telephone call which I could have done later... my current ego structure knows the jig is up...  Wink

Ha ha, that's pretty funny  Grin

The toe thing makes me think that it's just a subconscious way for you to find a distraction.  What happens to me is I lie there thinking about every little itch or something, but now I've learned to welcome those distractions because I just ignore it by focusing more on my intent.  Like a barking dog.  I hate that!  I swear that dogs don't bark until you lie down to rest!  But I just use those distractions as determination to focus more.  The knock on the door isn't something you can ignore though.  I think if someone is purposely knocking on the door with your sign there, then they obviously have something in their belief system that makes them want to disturb you.  Honestly, that's my opinion.  Maybe change your sign to say "napping" or tell them you don't feel good and are taking a nap.  It might help.  My ex used to LOVE to sabotage me when he knew I was meditating.

About my advice about "just feeling" instead of thinking...I wonder if it would help if I explained it better?  When I say feel, I don't mean to have emotions.  I mean what it means when you aren't thinking, you're just sensing.  Does that make sense?

I've found that if I can get myself into a "feeling" state of sensory awareness, THEN I am able to think, wonder, ask, etc and it doesn't affect the state that I'm already in.  That's why what I'm currently working on is really learning and knowing what that feeling state feels like.  I need to practice meditating on a regular basis so that I can more easily relax my thinking mind when I want to.  It should all come naturally with practice.  For me the problem is finding the time.

Hi Vicky: This advice continues to yield results... in this afternoons session I had two exits... the last one was beautiful it came right at the end of the Monroe disk... the etheric double slipped out of my skull... I attempted to let is complete the exit but I had a tinge of fear... it was slightly scary... and it shut down... it happened too suddenly... yesterdays session saw my left shoulder separate I am sure it was the fundamental energy body... it had Green Bay Packer green and gold swirls... very interesting coloration...

I guess the surprise that it was about to happen and it caught me by off guard (usually I am ready but sometime there is an instant when you are off balance) it was only a tinge of anxiety but enough to shut it down. This is a problem when your conscious mind is too strong... if you are debilitated by fasting and sleep deprivation the conscious mind is very sluggish in its reaction time.

Your reasons about fasting and sleep deprivation are true, however a better and just as efficient way to easily project without resistance is to be well rested, get a full night's sleep, set an alarm for morning, turn it off, and go back to sleep while setting your intention to project.  With practice and patience you'll get it and it's a piece of cake.

Hi Vicky: I am posting this because I think you should know this advice is directly responsible for something that happened in session which is too personal and too powerful to post.

Wow Seraphis, sounds intriguing.  Some experiences are like that, too personal and powerful to post.  I've had plenty of those myself!!  Maybe in time you can find a way to post it?  If not, it definitely sounds like it was moving enough that it's propelled you in your journey, and that's all that really matters.  Once in a while I get those gems too.

I'm pretty thrilled my advice has been helpful.

HI Vicky: I'm praising and am grateful for your seemly simple advice because I want to highlight that this IS the constructive use of the forum. This is what it SHOULD be about.
