This is my perception of God, What is yours??
Jan 8th, 2011 at 4:52am

My idea on God that he is a heavenly father, the uncaused cause, the Alpha and Omega points, the Source of all existence, the Divine mind the Unmovable Rock from which all things emerge, the primordial intelligence, the First Thought, the creator of the universe, the great mathematician. The Great teacher, The Light that illuminates the darkness, my companion, my Heavenly Father

The lover of my soul,

"Life"

Love

Perhaps, to me, 'God' is the entity toward which I feel thankful when I am able to see this world from an observer point of view. In this 'calm center' I am able to see and feel the beauty of life within my own heart. This state is the one I call for when I feel lost and frightened, the one I long for when times are difficult for me. Because I feel that 'father' 'mother' 'sister' 'brother' 'friend' 'animal' 'plant' 'cloud' etc. -- and even 'alien' -- reside within my own self, what comes forth from my 'sight' and 'dreams' is 'interpreted' in a most helpful way from a 'position' of safety and loving kindness.

This 'place' is the One to which I give my gratitude and make my pleas for strength. Perhaps it is simply what we might know as Home.

God loves you. He loves you, and He needs money!
He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more.
But I want you to know something, this is sincere, I want you to know, when it comes to believing in God, I really tried. I really, really tried. I tried to believe that there is a God, who created each of us in His own image and likeness, loves us very much, and keeps a close eye on things. I really tried to believe that, but I gotta tell you, the longer you live, the more you look around, the more you realize, something is messed up.
Something is wrong here. War, disease, death, destruction, hunger, filth, poverty, torture, crime, corruption. Something is definitely wrong.
This is not good work. If this is the best God can do, I am not impressed. Results like these do not belong on the résumé of a Supreme Being

Hi Charley

I can really identify with your statement above, but should we blame god for every wrong when it is he that has given each of us a free will without any reservation?

George Carlin was a funny insightful comedian, but he makes incorrect assumptions.  Here in the physical world, we willingly separate ourselves from God and teh universe.  The indulgence of our egos into selfish human behaviour then often results in war, hatred and suffering.  We are meant to learn that through love and selflessness we gradually become happy.  But many, perhaps most do not learn this lesson.

When stepping back and looking at the big picture, some people see all the negatives and assume this is God's plan.  It is, clearly OUR plan, created by the interaction of human beings, not preordained by an all powerful entity.  Allowed to be - as Alan said, by choice of individual people who are distancing themselves from love and God - willingly for a time, until they learn or realize what is right thought and action.

Alan,

Can you elaborate a bit and explain what you mean by "heavenly" and what you mean by "father"?  Because I'm confused.

Very nicely and concisely said Matthew.  It seems there is a certain amount of stuckness involved in the whole process.  I still don't know for sure if this was all planned from the beginning, or just a natural consequence of having the power of freewill and having used it in a limiting and non Source/creative like manner.

By saying heavenly Father, to me God is my spiritual Father, heavenly just means a state of ever existent bliss, that is our destination after we die or the death of our mortal bodies

My perception of God is that which is good, love, source energy, and a network through which all living things are interconnected.
