The earth life system seems to be one of the few places that people of completely different spiritual development can interact together on a level playing field. Most accounts of spiritual or mental planes have discussed the inability of those who are further from love (on a hellish plane or stuck) to see or experience higher levels - say focus 27 - until they are ready for it.  Whereas on earth, there is the whole spectrum from loving souls to selfish/hateful ones, all going about their daily experiences.

Now one might think that as linnear time passes, their would be fewer people born into the ELS, as more people would mature in spirit, and continue to ascend rather than dive back into the physical.  Here is where things get tricky, because I think some of us dive back in with the full realization that we don't need to, but do it for the sake of others - people we love, and for certain higher purposes.

Some may wish to bring in a gift of knowledge.  Others, may be born to guide or protect another - I am convinced that my 8 year old son Joshua and I are bound, and that I came into this world in some way to watch over him. 

If we can act as guides, healers and teachers in spirit, how much more brave would it be to dive back into earth life, knowing we will be helping others in the physical world?

So yes, sometimes we wonder why we are here, if he are, in general good and loving, as if our evolution necessitated our moving on away from the ELS.  And then we find that love and sacrifice may bring us back, and it isn't all about our own spiritual progress any more, but about what we are willing to do for others.
