They simply have no category to store this in, as long they stick to their materialistic worldview. As strange as it sounds, for some it is unbearable to imagine every individual had to die, while for others it is unbearable to believe in something different than the materialistic worldview.

Interesting point, Spooky. I read a story about a child taken in by american indians. He was found with a dead father and a saddled horse. The indians took the child and the saddled horse back to their camp and the horse's saddle was deposited at the front of a teepee as it was not something they had a use for. The child remarked that the saddle stayed at the front of the teepee and everyone entering and exiting the teepee tripped over it without even seeing it because it had no use or reality to them.
I wonder how much we do not see simply because it is not part of our material world and we do not have a mental category in which to place it?
