I believe I sometimes have what I consider to be 'foreshadowing' of future events. What I also have are kind of 'signpost' events which are 'coincidences' which show me that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. These occur, sometimes, in multiples, so that I know I am not 'imagining' it. Most of the time, I feel that I am left to my own devices, but I certainly feel that, no matter what my own personal emotions are at the time, if I am aware and alert, there is something to notice which would be odd to simply happen by chance. I don't know what to 'think' of these occurrences. They are not of a nature which I could describe to anyone coherently, not of a nature that anyone would take me seriously. But they are comforting in their own way, because they indicate to me that there is an order to my universe, and even a kind of interaction and communication with it, if not with 'someone'.  When I was a child I had a memorable dream, and I was afraid that it was 'my' future. It eventually did occur, but I was not 'in' it, I was watching it, at the time. My perspective was a little different, when it actually happened. I have had other dreams, like that. I have also described characteristics of people I did not even know, in my journal. Later, they were found to be true. But these are not anything I have tried to develop in a meaningful way, so they do not happen very often. It is not that I think our lives are 'mapped' out completely, but I do think there is more information 'floating' around than we might think. And I do think we influence many events in our lives through our own thoughts, prayers, feelings and intentions. What this should do is give us more of a sense of 'power' in our lives, but I don't think we are encouraged to feel such 'power' in our everyday lives. Whether  we are 'encouraged' to feel it or not, I believe it exists.

Yes, I have premonitions, nothing too fancy. I can usually tell when a cop/police officer is on the road or about to pass him. Never had a speeding ticket. Two days ago I was in the car going to the store and the car sounded funny, but hubby assured me it was nothing. At any rate, I felt very uneasy. On the way back from the store, I hit the biggest dang pothole I ever saw and blew a tire. I'm not sure that qualifies.

I recall one time having a dream in college about a friend I had in high school but hadn't really kept in touch. I told one of my friend's that day that I had a dream. Walked to my mailbox, in the mailbox was a letter from the high school friend! That really freaked my college friend out.

Had a hankering to play the lottery a couple of weeks ago and wrote the numbers down (my grandma used to do this weekly and keep a log, and twice, she forgot to take the numbers with her to the store and they were the winning numbers for the big jackpot...verifiable...sigh). So I do likewise and forget to take my numbers. Get an easy pick. Three of the numbers I had chosen beforehand show up on the easy pick and I won $7. Nothing that fancy again, but a welcome $7, lol.

Unfortunately, I seem to have more premonitions about how people will act, in a negative fashion. I seem to be able to see things ... coming down the pike so to speak. This really doesn't help me much, but it does keep some of the surprises at a minimum.

For example, a friend of mine who lives in another state started talking about getting a puppy. I discouraged her and said get an older dog, already housebroken from rescue. She's younger than I with a pretty busy life. I happen to know a lot about dogs, raising and training them, and so I gave her lots of information. Within one week of buying a purebred puppy she turned around and is trying to sell it. Well, I guess that's not so much a premonition as just a common sense thing, but it didn't surprise me because I didn't think she could handle a puppy.

It's hard to say exactly all the different types of premonitions I have, as I see them as quite normal.

Hi

This is interesting!  You all have differing types of premonitions that show you what is coming. There must be alot of different types that 'speak to' different individuals, -- maybe a whole book's worth to help people realize that their own way of finding out future information is also valid.

Here's a couple more --
One way that was discussed a while back is getting a dream of a phone call. The person on the phone gives the dreamer some information that later comes true.

Maybe this following one isn't a premonition because it's pretty much based on the present moment -- sometimes when people tell me something that isn't true, I hear a buzzing on top of what they're saying, sort of like 'Truth' is trying to blot out the falseness of what they're saying.
Unfortunately 'Truth' doesn't then correct what they said--only later do I find out what was the real story.  Smiley

I have them George. I have a premonition that you will never die and that you will grow younger with every day if you so choose.

Had quite the odd experience the other day. There is a new coworker at my job who I have become casual friends with. She texts me on occasion. So the other day I was going to an art store and when I pulled into the parking lot I had this imaginative thought of running into her. It was completely random and just a basic daydream.

So as I'm in the store and looking around, I hear my name get called and I turn around and there she is. It kind of blew my mind and was incredibly convenient.

Obviously it wasn't "completely random", nor a "basic daydream".  There was a reason, it is up to you to see it, whether it was to show you how things work or for you to hear what she was actually saying...verbally or by her presence.  Good luck and happy searching...

I haven't gotten so much a premonition, but more the idea of situational changes.  I get alternative views of changes in my office, or in my social sphere, either due to others actions or to circumstantial changes which will enable other things to come to pass...then they do.  Almost like I am being shown a changed landscape and during that preview I can plot my path through it in advance of arriving there.

Nothing as premonitory as Stone's meeting the girl...the immediacy in that is so cool.  All my stuff seems to come slowly and easily and without fanfare.

Hi George, this is a great topic!

I have lots of different types of premonitions and ways in which they happen to me.  Some in dreams, some are visual, some of just a feeling of knowing for sure about something.  I always try to pick up on what each "type" feels like and try to identify it for the next time it happens, and that way I can learn to trust and nurture that ability.

Does anybody else do this...I am always testing myself in any opportunity I get.  Like if the phone rings, I'll try to pick up who it is before I answer, or while playing cards I'll try and predict which cards come next, just any little opportunity that comes along.

What I find is that even though I'm not correct all the time, what I am noticing is that when I AM right, there's a specific feeling that goes along with it.  Each time I have that particular feeling, I end up being right.  So that's what I'm studying and paying attention to right now at this time in my life.

I think these feelings can present themselves to us differently, like Bets mentioned the buzzing sound when someone is lying.  But for me, the feelings and signs I get are usually a feeling sense that I can't yet quite put my finger on.  I know it when I feel it, but I can't yet seem to "make" myself feel it.  I'm still studying and practicing gaining more information from it.  I guess it's like a kid learning to tie their shoes or learning to read.  One day something just clicks and you just get it and know it.  That's what I'm hoping to accomplish with my own skills.

Yeah I get what you're saying. There's definitely something there, but I can't place it. I've also been noticing the connections between people. Like this girl for instance...she was randomly hired at my job upon walk in (which never happens, but shes very attractive so that probably played a part). Well after getting to know her it turns out that she's the best friend of one of my best friend's exes. Definitely a small world moment.

I'm not real sure why I predicted running into her or even what to do about it or how to figure anything out.

Hi vicky. My premonitions are warning of the future, like the night I had a dream of being in the home where my motherinlaw was.I heard a doctor say he was giving her something to calm her down.I than found myself in a funeral home, where she was in a casket dead.when I woke up in the morning,I told my wife her mother was dead, she did not beleive me. Than the phone rang,my wife answered it was a friend.saying,I have bad news.your mother died last night.she looked at me,as if to say.what are you.her mother was in a home 2,000 miles from where we lived.George

George,

Don't you also have a story from a long time ago that a childhood friend visited you?  I can't remember the whole story.  Do you think your mother-in-law was contacting you by sending you this dream of the funeral home?  It sounds like you have a strong ability to sense contact from the deceased.
