George, what are you talking about? I've never heard such a thing. I find it extremely, well, impossible, to believe. Who told you this, or is this your experience, and how do you know?

I guess I'm kind of stunned by what you wrote. Yesterday I tried to go visiting amongst my 'past lives' in meditation, for the first time in years. I tried several times, sincerely, and came up with nothing. 'They' wouldn't show me anything. I fully expected to 'surface' with at least 'something', but nada. I've already viewed, probably 5-6 other 'characters' in my 'past' this way, so I had no reason to doubt I could find another 'life'. But, nooooooooo, no matter how sincere I was, nada. So, I just put it behind me.

Now, here you are, saying I may have some other lives to go, since I'm not nearly where you are, in earth years.

So, what gives?

I still have a problem with all those lives, but there's some good stuff here. Do you practice this meditation every day, or often, George?

I like it because you can say it anytime, anywhere, and easily slip into your meditative practice. Simplicity is a good thing, in my mind. But, for me, personally, there are so many ideas I want to 'practice' that I can't confine it to one anymore, as I did years ago. Still, I see how this could be very very good and useful for anyone who understands what they are doing and is not just saying it on a surface level.

isn't this a rather arbitrary number?
From what I've read elsewhere, some folks can have thousands of lifetimes, while others zip through the ELS very quickly -I think it may have been in one of Bruce's books that he met someone who managed to progress through in only one lifetime (Bruce do correct me if I'm wrong on this).
From Bob Monroe's (and others) writings we can see that some people can get stuck in lifetime after lifetime going through the same old stuff. A lesson is repeated until its learned and due to that old bogeyman free will, this can take any number of incarnations from 1 to 1000 (or more).
So 144 in each sex seems to me to be rather contrived, not even accounting for those who decide to experience homosexuality or lesbianism in a lifetime to leartn what that experience may teach them.

I don't know about any specific number of lifetimes allotted, but I have discovered 27 through my own meditation and three of those were female.

I have lives where I barely survived infancy and many others where I died in late teens or early twenties, all of which may count for others benefit but not necessarily for mine, however they count in the total lives lived on earth.  Care to hazard a guess as to what I understand  and I've been told the number is?

Interesting, thats exactly what I thought as I read the thread, Spooky....lol.... I certainly do believe the soul re-incarnates, as its the only logical explaination to me personally, as to why I can experience a Dejavù of place or situation.

However, I cant seem to grasp where the number 144 would come into play, as I can not imagine a soul of everyone to be equal in the stages "of experiencing", ergo meaning: some souls may need to experience something 5 times in a row bevor it "gets the message" whilst another may simply need to experience it once or twice. From a mathematical standpoint I`d say if my soul has to go thru something 144 times inorder to grasp "it", then I is simply stupid.  and I`m gonna be pretty darn mad with my guide about that too, then.
