scratched in bed
Feb 2nd, 2010 at 1:07am

Hi,

ok, I'm a little freaked out about something that happened to my husband last night while sleeping. He got scratched on the side of his back with 3 definite scratches that drew blood, about 1/2 in apart and about 4 in. long, and we can't figure out how. We've searched the bed, nothing there. We're checked his nails but the scratch marks look like a cat got him and both our nails are blunt.  Huh
He was also facing me on his side and I had my back to him so there's really no way I could have done it. This actually woke him up and he felt around under him so see what it could have been but nothing was there.
Also, our cats are kept down stairs and locked out of our room while we sleep because they're a pain.

I'm concerned because recently I pulled out that pendulum, as I've reported in previous posts, and maybe I opened a door or invited something in. Any ideas? Shocked

I also took a photo & with I could post it. I know this isn't really afterlife related per say but maybe you guys could weigh in.

I'll admit up front I'm very biased because of how my opinions differ with the answers you shared in your other thread.  I'm just making that clear now.

With that established, maybe that wasn't your spirit guide.  Maybe it was, for lack of a better term, an imposter.  Some one who is up to something not nice, and now he/she is exploiting your previous invitations with regards to your pendulum to do physical harm.

I'm no expert; this is just a guess.  I'm not married to this idea, but it came to mind.

I'd be curious to see a picture of the scratch marks.

First, I would ask myself if there have been any other events in the residence in which you live? Anything that might have you look back and wonder if you might have looked at it more closely?

Sometimes these odd events seem associated with the residence, although I am no expert. I can only take you and your partner at your word until I know otherwise. Of course, there is the possibility that the scratches were already there and he wasn't 'aware' of them until he woke up 'suddenly', as it happened, after they got irritated somehow during the night. Who can say, with no picture here to look at?

If you have a photo, you can get some opinions on what made the scratches. You can also photograph the scratches as they heal to notice if there is anything else unusual about them. Even a doctor's opinion? The marks were bleeding as you say, so that would concern me a bit if I didn't know the origin of the scratches.

I am sorry to hear that you had such a frightening time. If you are being disturbed by some kind of entity, there are various ways to approach it. If you are purely curious, why not try a little evp recording? Otherwise, because this was a 'violent' occurrence, I won't advise you, others being more skilled than me, perhaps.

But see you and your partner surrounded by a white light of protection, or golden light is also one I use. Both of you can use this light to protect you and we can also send you this in the healing forum if you like.

I had a scare the other day too. But it was a false alarm. The table at which I regularly sit is ridiculously close to my front door. I like telling stories, so ignore me if this doesn't seem pertinent. Smiley I was sitting there reading a Charlie Brown comic book, mostly about Snoopy the dog, and laughing. I had been in the doldrums for a while, the winter blahs, and this cheered me up. So, I'm in mid-laugh, and my doorknob starts jiggling really hard, and sounds sincerely like someone is breaking in. This goes on and on, and I jump up like lightning, feeling my adrenaline rushing (did I mention it was peaceful and quiet and evening time?). I peered out of the viewhole in the upper door, and saw a man standing there, who quickly left. I thought I was going to have a heart attack.

Later, I left to do something, maybe the next morning, I don't remember. I picked up the pizza flyer off the doorknob, where a rubber band held it in place.

My God, how hard is it to put a pizza place advertisement on my doorknob without scaring the living daylights out of me?

Guess I'm just saying, could be anything, anything at all.

Nini,

I am a relative newcomer to these things and thus perhaps naive' in some instances.  Be that as it may, I don't believe that anything "Non-Physical" can harm you in the Physical World -- other than to scare the bejeezus out of you, if you let it.  The Non-Physical entity is of such low density that it cannot affect the highly dense physical matter of our world.  It takes a Physical entity to affect the Physical world significantly, IMHO.

I would rip off all the covers down to bare mattress.  Then go around covering every spot on the mattress by pushing down hard and seeing if a spring end or wire has come loose and pokes up through the mattress when you push down hard.

Just a thought.

Hi Qaero,

I did that. We ripped all the blankets and sheets off the bed, checked for loose earrings, a pin or cat claws that might have snuck in there. Nothing. Nothing on the floor, bed, in pillow etc., etc. Also, we have a vinyl mattress w/out springs.

I happen to believe that spirits can be felt and can move objects in the physical world. Cases of scratches appearing  on skin from no visible cause during possession & haunting investigations have been documented, but if believing that they can't do that makes you feel better, okay. However, I don't think all spirits feel the need, or perhaps have that capability.

Thankfully, we slept peacefully last night except for the time when my daughter fell out of her crib around 3 am  Wink

BTW, Is there a way to post a picture on here?

Also, the only way to get scratches like this that I can think of is if you ran through some thorn bushes and he doesn't do yard work (I do  Roll Eyes and hadn't been out in nature where that could have accidentally happened. The scratch marks are from something extremely pointed like a needle, thorn or claw and our cats don't scratch. They just don't and he would have remembered that if it happened since it would be so out of character for them. Our kids also didn't have any sharp bits on their nails. It's a very strange thing.

As far as other unexplained incidents, back in November I walked out my back door and found a neat little pile of about a dozen jelly beans just sitting there. Like a child carefully placed them there. Why? Who knows. I left them alone but took a photo. The next morning they were gone. My kids didn't put them there and our yard if completely enclosed and locked so nobody could have placed them there except us. We don't have raccoons or possums around either. For a while I was convinced that my husband was just playing a joke on me but he swears he wasn't. He was just as baffled as I was.   Shocked
