   This is a wonderful story. Although Dr. Dosa thinks it could be due to sense of smell that gives Oscar the talent for knowing when death is near, I feel that it's more than physical capabilities being used by Oscar.

   All through history, reports of cats having psychic capabilities have been reported. Here is a good article with more about this:

   It could be physical skills, psychic skills, or even spiritual powers that some cats possess. Over 5000 years ago, ancient Egyptians worshipped the half cat/half human daughter of Ra named Bast:

Since they considered all cats to be sacred animals, they must have known that cats are more than meets the eye.
