I beleive but can't seem to find my way.
Jan 15th, 2010 at 4:26pm

Hello everyone this is my first post after a couple of months of browsing through threads which I find very interesting.

I started this journey a few months ago because I want to find out more about the afterlife.

I started reading a lot about astral projection and I have read all of Robert Monroes' books. After a couple of months I will say I have seen progress with having lucid dreams and about three OBE's, the best experience was when I was in a lucid dream and went back to my physical body which felt like it was slow motion and I could feel how my astral body was aligning to my physical body and it was amazing.

The problem is that I feel empty, or should I say lost as to how to improve in my journey. I feel that there is a part of me that is still skeptic even after I had my experiences. I feel there is something weird about me, for example I can barely remember dreams even though I have had some lucid dreams, I will admit I am scared of the dark even though I have never seen or experienced anything paranormal in the physical. I told my sister about my astral projection experiences and she opened up about how she always dreams that she is flying, she also tells me about dreams with deceased relatives which I have never had. One more thing is that she often talks to a psychic she trusts and in all readings I'm the only one that does not seem to show up as being part of her immediate family.

I think I am very open minded, I will give anything the benefit of the doubt but at the same time I feel there is this barrier that is within me and I just don't know how to get rid of it. I just bought the first two books in Bruce Moen's collection so I hope to get more knowledge but I guess I'm writing here to ask for any suggestions as to what to do to get rid of my fears, blockages.

Thank you in advance for any help

Ruben

Dear Supermodel and mcdwg,

You will overcome your fears because these experiences are bigger than fear. Bruce's way of expressing his journey into all this has a calming sense to it.  His books helped me beyond anything else I'd read or tried.

Probably some affirmations will help, thinking only in terms of what you will do, rather than what has not happened so far.
Also speaking to your Guide or a Higher Power about your goal of experiencing the afterlife will help, even if you do not 'hear' a response.

You will get there!

I agree with Bets that the books are very helpful, but for me it was the CDs that made a real difference. Bruce's voice is dry meaning it has no music under it and he has a very unassuming approach...very relaxed, easy going, I guess. I find him very pleasant to listen to and follow along. At first I was disappointed that there was no music underneath his voice but now I welcome it. The best experiences I've had with afterlife communication have been with Bruce's CDs or using nothing at all, but I still find it difficult to "travel" at will, which is what I'm most interested in.

Yours,
Beau

Mcdwg,

Think of yourself, in regard to what you are attempting, as a "new-born baby".

You can't just stand up and start running right away.

There is a growth process.

Believe me, I am struggling with it, too.

Actually, you have done some pretty amazing things already.  I have never had a "real" OBE (to my knowledge) and only one lucid dream that I can recall.

My journeys, so far, have been with Bruce's method.  Primarily images that I see, not on the back of my eyelids, but somewhere in my head, or mind.  Not exactly sure where they originate.  But, for me, if I try to focus hard on the back of my eyelids (like trying to "see" with my closed eyes) I lose them and have to concentrate and search somewhere inside my head to "lock on" to the images again.

It can be frustrating and confusing at times, for sure.  It seems to be, for me, mostly a floundering around process as I try different ways of doing things -- some work, some don't.

Don't take my advice too seriously -- I have been studying Bruce's material only 2 months.

I'm just sayin' that it takes a while to get a handle on this stuff.  But, consider what you are attempting.  Projecting your consciousness or "second body" across the Great Divide between two worlds.  Great goals usually require great effort and discipline, in my experience.

Don't get discouraged.

Quaero

P.S.  Supermodel -- remember what Bruce emphasizes.  Love and Fear cannot co-exist.  "Charge" yourself with Love to the max before exploring -- then project all the Love you can from your heart chakra towards what you fear.

Also, projecting Love towards what you don't understand or cannot percieve well can help clarify it.

Note:  Sometimes I find it much easier to give advice than to follow my own advice.   Smiley

Thank you everyone for all your replies, I will say I Thought talking to your guide or inner self wasn't possible until a lot of improvement had been made; I now realize I can talk to my inner self anytime I want even if I don't hear a response, answers may come to me in different ways. I will definitely start talking to my inner self, I am confident I will get results.

I know at this point I am like a new born baby learning to crawl, it is frustrating but I guess necessary as well in order to develop. I know I am making progress, very little but I just have to go on.

P.S. By the way I just started reading "voyages into the unknown" I read halfway last night. I can relate to many things Bruce talks about, it's a very good book.

Again thank you for your replies. very appreciated.
