Mystery Death
Jan 12th, 2010 at 3:00pm

Hi everyone!
I'm only now taking an interest in the afterlife. This is because someone dear to me has recently past on and I am very interested in what's going on with him now that he is gone..... We've only know each other for a short time and he is very special to me as he was helping me get through a breakup in my marriage. I looked to him for strength and comfort.
He also had someone whom he'd never seen. From what I know he's been speaking to her for approximately three (3) years on the phone, supposedly from New York. We are from Trinidad in the Caribbean.
There's a big mystery that surrounds his death and I would love the opportunity to find out more about the things he was going through.
Only after finding your website, I feel as though I have hope and maybe a chance to have contact with him.
I am not sure what is the next step from here as I do not have any OOBE, nor do I think I can.
Can someone guide me accordingly? I will really appreciate it.

Hi Babygirl, welcome. There is more than one way to approach your question, but this website is designed to acquaint you with the work of Bruce Moen who encourages people to explore on their own, and it doesn't require any special ability in particular, except for a willingness to quiet yourself and use your imagination, a willingness to look, listen and feel for experiences which are not your typical everyday life experiences. There's lots and lots of information here on practice, but the first step is always to use your mind and your heart to reach inward (can feel like reaching 'out' too) to ask guidance for an experience which has meaning for you. A meditation practice can surely assist you, but many people have experiences while sitting or lying in a relaxed state, or in dreams while asleep. I hope this is helpful to you, and enjoy this site.

Hi Babygirl,

Welcome to a great new adventure!  If you decide to continue.

I am a new member of this board also, think I joined about two weeks ago -- might have been three.  So, I can't give you the experienced and enlightened advice that several senior members of this board have given me.  But I am learning.

I think you will find people willing to help you here.  I'm willing, but not smart enough yet.   Smiley

I would say, though, that if you are not very familiar with this rather esoteric material, then you need to give yourself some background.  It will help you understand these new ideas you will be studying and practicing.

Myself, I bought the full set of Bruce Moen's material, his e-books, the Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook, and the CDs/DVD.  The full set is around $130, but it was worth it to me.

The ebooks mostly give the story of Bruce's personal experiences with exploring the Afterlife, including his initial doubts about the validity of his experiences and how he finally overcame his doubts.  The narrative of his adventures will acquaint you with what to expect as you travel "Over There".  The Guidebook teaches and gives exercises for the procedures Bruce developed to reach the state of "Altered Consciousness" required.  The CDs have Bruce's voice walking you through the exercises.  The DVD is a 2-hour speech Bruce gave in Australia about the Afterlife.

Bruce is a graduate of several courses from "The Monroe Institute", so you might want to take a look at their website also:   http://www.monroeinstitute.org/

You may also want to read the books by Robert Monroe (he explored mostly with OBEs).  Usually, you can find all three of them in a decent-sized library.

Journeys Out of the Body

Far Journeys

Ultimate Journey

Bruce found OBEs difficult to reliably achieve and developed his own methods for projecting consciousness into other realitites.  The Monroe Institute does not guarantee you will have an OBE, but their consciousness altering techniques can still be useful, especially to a beginner.  I think Bruce would agree with that, though it can be done with just the techniques in his course.  I am an example of the latter, though I would like to take some TMI courses when I can afford them.

Again, reading of Bruce's experience in his four ebooks is almost a must, in my opinion.  You need that background.  The ebooks are not expensive, around $7 each, as I recall.  They vary in length from around 150 pages to 350 pages -- I am quoting from memory here and page count would not be exact.

Let me tell you this.  I starting reading Bruce's material in mid-November of 2009.  I suppose it depends upon how much spare time you have to devote to these studies, but on December 20th, 2009, I found my Loved One in the Afterlife.  There are no words to tell you what that meant to me.  That first embrace ...

I will also say here that, in my opinion, if your quest is powered by "Love", rather than just curiosity, you will proceed much faster.  Mine was powered by Love, and that "invisible hand" in my back was really shoving me along.

I am told that my "visions" have unusual clarity (by others on the board), but it may have been beginners luck -- I have times when my vision is fuzzy and/or dim (there are other ways to percieve than just vision, also).  Depends, I think, on how tired I am -- and also on "Belief System Crashes", which you definitely need to learn about.  They can shake you up.  There are "aspects of your mind" that are nice and comfortable with the way your world is now -- they may resist the new and uncomfortable information that you are coming up with.  They don't know how to deal with it, at first.  Bruce will tell you how to deal with a Belief System Crash.

Not to scare you, but be aware that a strong BSC can turn you into an emotional basket case for a few days.  (I know.)

So, Miss Explorer, gather up your courage and dive into the Unknown.  We'll all be here cheering you on.  Your world is about to become a lot bigger.   Wink
