Not sure what the ethics of retrieval are... since I am not officially trained, I wonder it I should attempt to do them anyway.. especially right now when I am still recovering from a cold which causes coughing fits and breaks my sessions. This morning I ran into a Union calvary squad... didn't know what to do because it caught me by surprise... I had no guide so I tried to continue with my exercise... the coughing fit broke the session... then, thought... oh, I could use the energy conversion box to put aside stuff not helpful to my session progress... is that ethical or okay to do... ignor or put extraneous retrievals off for a more convenient time?

Hello Seraphis1;
I would not worry too much about ethics/etiquette; just be open and willing to help.
You were show the Calvary squad for a reason, and like it says in the Bruce AK guidebook chap 3 page 5 Model of consciousness "Once you can identify the feeling of any area within consciousness, merely remembering and re-experiencing that feeling will automatically shift your awareness back to that area of consciousness"...so you can always go back when your're feeling better.. Cool
Keep it up and thank for sharing.

Seraphis,  I hear you!
Back when I was training myself with the tapes and Bruce's first book, I would dread the couch/cold syndrome as it would knock me out of my carefully constructed meditation.  It;s a delicate period but you'll gain strength and get past it, believe me.

Hi Gordon: Yeah it just blows you out over most of it now but I still am needing a lot of sleep and I still have phlegm got any herbal tea ideas that can clear phlegm.

Once I was "trained" to do retrievals at Monroe Institute I found i had been doing them for a very long time without realizing it. I think you may find the same thing in time. Keep practicing!
