Given that the crucifixion and resurrection in three days of the man-god son of a virgin mother was an old, old, oft repeated meme long before the time of Christ, I wouldn't expect any details to be necessarily historically accurate.  Even if an historic Christ existed, the story was bound to become fit to the shape of the existing myth through retelling.

Hi

What if we all have taken for our life such a pattern from old oft-repeated memes -- from folklore, fairytales, religious teachings? And the variations we live provide slight changes that give later generations further options for their patterns?
And meanwhile above it all, God watches the Word so expand...?
