HOW TO DO A RETRIEVAL?
Jun 3rd, 2009 at 3:13am

I h ave never done a conscious retrieval before, although I always set it as my intention as I go to sleep or AP, & some mornings I remember dreams where I did seem to participate in something akin to encouraging or helping people, such as saying to someoen that death is not to be feared, I giving her my word that I had astral projected before, & knew she would be fine. . . also encouraged someone to go into the Light.

As I drove in to work yesterday I passed an accident scene, where I noticed a woman's body under a blanket - only her leg protruding. . . I sent white light & peace,  & encouraged her to move into The Great Light .  Shortly afertwards,  I sensed (but did not see) a dejected woman sitting in the passenger seat beside me.  I spoke aloud & told her to move on, not to cling to her body or past life, all the while picking up on her  sadness & loss.  She seemed to dissipate; now I feel I should have done more, & fear that perhaps I was only deluding myself anyway. . .any advice would be appreciated!

I would love to assist departed beings, especially animals - I have met some little creatures in the astral who were lost & afraid.

Start by getting and reading Bruces books, particularly the Afterlife Knowledge Guidebook. You night consider sponsoring him to do a workshop locally, or even consider soing the Lifelines program at Monroe Institute.

I found I had been doing this work unconsciously for a long, long time before I began to do it consciously.

Hi Kirolak;
Welcome to the board..well if this wasn't a conscious retrieval what was it.... Wink
Sensing is as good as seeing impo.. you did pickup on her sadness & loss...spoke  to her reminding her not to hang on to the body ....to go toward the light; and you we NOT deluding yourself.
Trust your instinct and you do fine.
Job well done; Please keep it up  and keep us posted on those exciting retreivals you'll be doing.. Cool

Greetings Kirolak,

My first retrieval was very much like yours -- I hadn't heard of Bruce yet when I drove by an auto wreck site. I couldn 't see the victims like you did but could feel a haunting sadness that came on suddenly. Since I was driving alone I just let my imagination go with it and assumed it felt like a ghost that needed help -- etc.

Now that you know you can do it (It's so natural, eh?) you may feel like you don't need to study it. That's true, except the  book gives you alot of preparation for different variations that are very useful.  And it's always good toknow that other people are into this too!

Thanks for sharing your experience! Every situation is abit different and is inspiring for doing more!

Hello Kirolak:

According to Rosalind Mcknight's book Cosmic Journeys, many people help with retrievels while asleep without being conscious that they are doing so.

If you're having dreams that are telling you that this is the case, there is a good chance they are true. Perhaps in time you'll find a way to verify what's going on.

The fact that you have the desire to help is significant.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum.

So it is possible to be doing this in your sleep?  I've had a nagging feeling ever since I started reading about all these things that it's something I've already done or am doing, and have felt the message (when I worried that if I did it consciously I'd "mess up" that time when I'm doing it unconsciously) that the knowledge would come to me when I get to that level...  Very far off yet having only had 2, very uncontrolled, APs!  It's something I'm very drawn to at least.

For a long time I didn't remember my dreams, now that I'm starting to (as I'm opening up more to "there") I've had quite a few dreams which don't quite fit in with "advice" or working out every day issues...  Actually that's just reminded me that my last vivid one was indeed about saving someone - a young girl, which happened just before I was lead to Moens book - food for thought!

Nice to meet you all! x

Welcome Bumblebee,

and congratulations!  You are very fortunate, I think, to be so able and aware regarding nighttime retrievals.
I think our souls/ true selves/ whatever must get bored with lack of recognition and just take off on their own. Love is kind. Smiley

The more you read about others' similiar experiences, the less controlling your mind will be and you'll find yourself freer and more widely conscious of afterlife contacts.  It's quite an adventure! I hope you'll stay to share some with peopple here as every experience brings its own inspiration for others too.

When I first read about retrievals I was astonished about these strange, far out experiences. After some training through reading Moen and the TMI Gateway Voyage, I had a very intense period of retrieval experiences, and looking back it was just a natural thing to do. Actually, as your message said, you will know what to do when you contact a retrievee, that's my experience.
