I haven't yet a nonphysical view on this, as I do such things rarely lately. I think though it's possible that this behaviour can be explained by a traumatization of the children. That her mother left them for a year is one shock, that she reappeared is a second shock. Typically, especially children feel at least partly responsible, guilty, when one of their parents leave. For some children it's too much. When the mother reappeared, and who knows what she then told the children, it could have caused a re-direction of their feelings of guilt, now projected onto their father, an explosion which is an attempt to break free from the guilt and the mess in their thoughts. When the children are educated in spiritual things, they maybe could use conceptions as "possession" and such as a means to express themselves. I very strongly recommend to ask for professional help, the best would be an experienced specialist in children's and juvenile psychotherapy. I hope the health care system in Australia can provide that help.
