Attachment to physical body after leaving C-1
May 6th, 2009 at 8:30pm

Hello,

I was just wondering if the soul has any attachment, sentimental or otherwise, to the physical body it inhabited after it leaves the physical world and moves on to the higher focus levels?

Hi Sammy,

(and welcome to this place!)

Physically there is a fine cord that connects the physical body with some of the subtler bodies that go on after death. The cord breaks at physical death but stays attached during OBEs and other mental extensions of our consciousness.

Usually souls or the finer subtle bodies are so happy to be free of pain, gravity, and all that goes with the physical that they are very happy to shed it!
It seems to me that if a soul got really emotionally attached to their body, they would be denying the wonders of the afterlife and would probably/possibly end up haunting the earth plane.

Are you thinking of some situation that might help us think this through abit better?

Bets

Thanks for the insight.  My curiosity is related to a very pragmatic physical world issue - burials and cemetaries.  My nephew will be leaving this world very soon and the subject of burials/funerals is front and centre in our lives again.  Thought about relocating the coffin of my father, now deceased for 10 years, to a new location where we've reserved many places for the family.

I just started learning about the after-life on this website and would have loved to contact my dad directly about his feelings on this subject, but I'm not there yet.

Hi again Sammy,

By coincidence my family is going through the same process due to my mother's grave being separate from my father's and his second wife's.  I believe the moving around decisions are based on whatever the living people want. Anyway, that's what happens when famous people such as generals and celebrities get reinterred.
Those who have left earth don't care, unless they are of a faith that considers burial grounds sacred, as with the Native Americans.

Souls reunite with ancestors and family members when they are in the heavenly realms, and the love there helps them forget most problems dealing with the physical.
