Gosh, Betson, I don't feel advanced about much in life sometimes, but thanks for including me in your list of wonder women! I consider you a wonder woman, yourself! I am amazed at many of us here, and often marvel at the replies and experiences here.
There was a time when I was concerned with receiving specific results in exploratory activities, and wondered why I had so little control. Lately, I see that there is a pleasant ease associated with going with the flow and letting what "might happen" to just go ahead and happen.
What is of most concern to me now is being in alignment within the greater will of love, if that makes any sense. My senses tell me when I am on the best path. There are signs, regularly, but not everyday. I would like them to occur everyday, and I am now looking for them more diligently. However, it seems that being "open" is more important to any positive outcome than anything else I might focus upon.
Why aren't more women doing many many things? I will tell you that I have been actively discouraged from participating in these kinds of explorations which we talk about here by various "caring" family members and friends, although they don't really understand this site or the meditation methods that I use.
People often seem to become uncomfortable when they see a perfectly healthy human being relaxing and "not thinking" or "not doing" -- and they can't quite figure out what the actual rewards might be. It is even annoying to people, enough for them to spend time just to denigrate it.
I won't say that I've been persecuted. That would be an overstatement.
But, why do women do many of the things they actually do? I think that's a very good question, as well.
Yes, I think setting a specific intention is helpful. I think it works best if you can gently persuade yourself of its importance over time by repeating the words or imagery during meditation, before sleeping, or just upon awakening. Sometimes just one suggestion is enough, but I truly believe in the helpfulness of repeated suggestions to the subconscious mind.
I think we all have very special abilities, and one of them is to consciously align ourselves with our greater purpose. When that begins to fall into place, much else becomes completely superfluous. I would say, most importantly, just trust the guides, whoever they might be. They know what they are doing.
A few mornings ago I woke up and was feeling drowsy. I lay in that drowsy state for a while, wondering if I should listen. The phrase, "I am safe and secure" began repeating itself in my mind, over and over. It went on for a while. I realized that this very short and simple phrase completely relaxed my body. I had no idea that, even upon awakening, I was carrying tension into my day. But this phrase alerted me to this underlying tension, and totally eliminated it.
It seems like such a ridiculously simple phrase. But, in that half-awake state, it was very very powerful. I believe that the tools we need are always immediately in front of us. The guides would like us to notice them, but they are not going to do it for us.
