Women at Advanced workshops at OB centers

Hi,

have any of you women taken training beyond the first level with any OB master besides Bruce Moen?  If so could you PM me please? I'm doing a confidential survey.

Thanks, Bets

Greetings,

i've been finding that not only fears can keep us (me) stuck at one level in spiritual development. Also misconceptions can (probably attached to fears tho.)

I decided to look around for answers to my problem which was 'Do women like me have to get advanced formal training in OB etc or can they develop spirituallyon their own?

Google searched 'blogs spiritual', and found 524,000 entries!  The majority of them are spiritual explorers, and some are women.  So I'm reading some of those to find out how they got to where they're at. First blogs are screened to find if they're able to experience spirit as well as Ginny, Blink, Kathy, Juditha, and Alysia.  They're at the goal that I'm seeking.

Hi Bets,

Are you talking about an OOBE, out of body experience, when you say OB? And not sure what you mean by 'beyond the first level'.  Smiley

Much love,

Ginny

Greetings Ginny or anyone,

Probably I'm vague because my thinking's fuzzy.  Roll Eyes

Could we say that anything beyond the retrieval process in Bruce's Guidebook is 'advanced'?
Could we say for this post that any method of exploring beyond the physical is 'OB'?
(I really should use bettter definitions but I can't even tell how I get out of the physical
any more, if that has any bearing on where I can go.)

For example, Bruce and Monroe both briefly refer to meeting other entities while exploring,
but how do we make that a definite intent?
Can we set our intent to meet only lifeforms who are not from Earth, for example?
Are there subtleties involved in exploring anything beyond retrievals that require speaking with a teacher directly?
Mostly, why aren't more women doing it?

Any help appreciated Huh
Love, Bets

Gosh, Betson, I don't feel advanced about much in life sometimes, but thanks for including me in your list of wonder women! I consider you a wonder woman, yourself! I am amazed at many of us here, and often marvel at the replies and experiences here.

There was a time when I was concerned with receiving specific results in exploratory activities, and wondered why I had so little control. Lately, I see that there is a pleasant ease associated with going with the flow and letting what "might happen" to just go ahead and happen.

What is of most concern to me now is being in alignment within the greater will of love, if that makes any sense. My senses tell me when I am on the best path. There are signs, regularly, but not everyday. I would like them to occur everyday, and I am now looking for them more diligently. However, it seems that being "open" is more important to any positive outcome than anything else I might focus upon.

Why aren't more women doing many many things? I will tell you that I have been actively discouraged from participating in these kinds of explorations which we talk about here by various "caring" family members and friends, although they don't really understand this site or the meditation methods that I use.

People often seem to become uncomfortable when they see a perfectly healthy human being relaxing and "not thinking" or "not doing" -- and they can't quite figure out what the actual rewards might be. It is even annoying to people, enough for them to spend time just to denigrate it.

I won't say that I've been persecuted. That would be an overstatement.

But, why do women do many of the things they actually do? I think that's a very good question, as well.

Yes, I think setting a specific intention is helpful. I think it works best if you can gently persuade yourself of its importance over time by repeating the words or imagery during meditation, before sleeping, or just upon awakening. Sometimes just one suggestion is enough, but I truly believe in the helpfulness of repeated suggestions to the subconscious mind.

I think we all have very special abilities, and one of them is to consciously align ourselves with our greater purpose. When that begins to fall into place, much else becomes completely superfluous. I would say, most importantly, just trust the guides, whoever they might be. They know what they are doing.

A few mornings ago I woke up and was feeling drowsy. I lay in that drowsy state for a while, wondering if I should listen. The phrase, "I am safe and secure" began repeating itself in my mind, over and over. It went on for a while. I realized that this very short and simple phrase completely relaxed my body. I had no idea that, even upon awakening, I was carrying tension into my day. But this phrase alerted me to this underlying tension, and totally eliminated it.

It seems like such a ridiculously simple phrase. But, in that half-awake state, it was very very powerful. I believe that the tools we need are always immediately in front of us. The guides would like us to notice them, but they are not going to do it for us.

you Bets have always been like my motivator  Smiley I  wanted to remind you we are all effecting one another in our singular and group consciousness and u have been a very good friend whom I see as my equal, and my obes are only one every 3 months, if that. more frequent would be flashes of people who I know, or will know, or I've been asked to check on a recently departed family member. thats not going obe though and I sense no guides about when I phase, if that is phasing. just watching TV of the collective so to speak. I wanted to print this out for you guys as now you mention setting intent, and today me and Ric started talking spontaneously about setting intention. We forget the things we learned sometimes, so I'll type out this, what I saved for years, was helpful to me.

good thread concept as usual  Smiley

The passage you've quoted reminds me of my workshop on Placing Intent.
Perhaps placing intent and Faith mean similar things.

As I teach placing intent is an area of consciousness that has a specific feeling. and if one experiences this feeling while expressing a desire theres a lot more power behind fulfillment of that desire.

I use the "silly little finger bending exercise to teach about Placing Intent. The concept is that everything we do requires that we place the Intent to do it. By focusing our attention on the act of bending the finger, we can capture that feeling that comes before placing Intent. Many describe this feeling as a strong knowing that the finger is going to bend..sounds like faith, doesn't it.

I also describe another area of consciousness I call Pure Doubtless Intent. In my view if one learns to experience this feeling and can cause themselves to feel it while expressing a desire, it sets in motion the intent, which could also be a part of the event planners domain, once the intent gets activated in the consciousness.

How does one learn to do this? In my view it's done by practicing placing intend Being aware of what you're feeling as you express your desire and paying attention to how your desire manifests.. It's a process that builds confidence or faith if you like. From that point of practicing, its just a matter of learning to re-experience that feeling while expressing a desire.

my comments..this is just part of that post of Bruces. it might be in the archives somewhere and was a long post.

I have never been able to go OBE, (just once voluntarily, objectionally) unless it's to assist another being, as I'm mainly interested in service type expeditions and sometimes there is a "calling."

not a voice, just a knowing where to go and who to see and why. A lot of times I just want to go see someone and say I'm glad I met you..just a smile trip, not a service trip. other times what I see will come to pass for me in physical reality.
this will make one meditate why it happens first in the astral, and is now happening again, then you lose your sense of logical clock time. Is why I say we are in a movie. Let's hope we do our lines well then!

Mainly, I think we are supposed to enjoy our lives, but we forgot how to laugh somewhere.  Smiley

Bets,

I'm not spiritually advanced, and I feel that no one really is more advanced than anyone else, but I think what you're saying is that you want to get beyond where you're at right now with your discoveries of self and the afterlife, and you wonder if you probably will need a specialized teacher to do that? I've experienced spontaneous OOBEs only here and there in the last 21 years, and only one OOBE was at will. It seems to be an impossible task for me. You do it with such ease, Bets, and to me that's a wonder. The reasons I was drawn to Bruce's work were because I couldn't OOB at will, and my inner guidance said his Focused Attention discoveries actually explained what Bob Monroe had called Phasing.

It took some time for me to fully realize that when it came to placing the intent regarding anything beyond this physical reality focus, I could visit any place, be with others, become acquainted with nonhuman entities, because I 'intended it'. The universe can't say no to that. My stumbling block was I didn't believe it could be that easy, so I'd dismiss the results.

Much love,

Ginny

Ginny brings up a good point and so similar to my own self discovery, that I couldn't believe it could be so easy to set an intention.

nonetheless I think sometimes we need to risk being wrong to test things for ourselves. So in order to get past doubts, which are like blocks to awareness, I decided to pretend it was real, and in the pretending, something allows you to skirt around the blocks to awareness, until there is something there in the mind which was unknown and looking at it, a rote, or an image, and with the doubts put away for a moment, something can happen, like phasing, something you wanted to know, or something that needs interpretation as it is filtering into the conscious mind where all the doubts live.

I think each doubt can be unraveled carefully also or milked, if u will, but while exploring, it's most important to carry PUL with you every time also.

thanks Ginny, u communicate very well.
