Help! Over-effective retrieval?
Mar 26th, 2008 at 7:52pm

Hello, I'm new!

My granny died over the weekend and I saw a vision of her seconds after I found out, very happy.  I tried retrieving her a few times over the day anyway (just in case I'd been mistaken).

By the next morning I had very convincing proof that she was intact - after asking her if she needed anything and being shown a specific flower arrangement in great detail, I saw the precise image of them in real life at the garden center!

It didn't stop there though - she turned up later while I was meditating, offering to help.  She gave me a cross, and a crystal heart radiating a massive ball of green energy, that first lit up my bed and then ended up inside my heart.  Terrifying nightmares then jumped out from my chest, which I had to transform with the cross!

I think, hope, this must have been some kind of healing process.  But...she was so gentle and soft in this life, she'd never dream of freaking me out.  Why the scary, spooky nightmare section?  Do people automatically go bizarre on the other side?

And how come all this is happening so quickly?  I thought she'd have to wait for the funeral before she was, well, elevated enough to pull off this kind of stunt.  Or is it the other way round, that she could only do this before the funeral?

I'm all confused, a bit worried about what the Bible might say, undergoing a bit of belief system reshuffle perhaps.  I love her, but I am a bit perturbed - does this count as haunting?  Anybody else had this sort of thing?  And a million other questions.  All thoughts much appreciated!

Hello and welcome etom.

Green seems like a good color for hearth chakra work, since the heart chakra is represented by the color green.  I believe the cross was also a good sign.

I can't say for certain, but I get the feeling some fear based energy was released for you. Does it feel lighter within your heart chakra area.

Regarding the Bible, I went through a period of time where I didn't know what Christ is about. I couldn't figure it out by reading a book. Fortunately, I realized that I didn't know, prayed for knowledge, and received a number of messages and experiences which showed that Christ is a part of divine reality and God has given him divine authority.

One thing Christ has communicated to me is that there is no reason to be afraid. If we choose to live according to the love he taught, we'll be okay. Sure there might be some unfriendly spirits out there, but it is up to us to decide which way to choose.

Perhaps your grandmother doesn't want you to have unnecessary fears clogging up your heart chakra.  If you want to feel secure about who you receive spirit help from, have good intentions and pray to God and Christ and ask for help.  This isn't an approach that is always taken by people who are into new age teachings.  I and others have found that Christ will help you.

I, too, would say this "nightmare section" appears like a cleaning process.
And the flowers, maybe a "thank you"?

A grandmother with whom I had a strong bond died 20-30 years ago. I believe it was her who blew a framed photograph of her mother down my stairs and, afterwards, I received a call that she had died of natural causes in another state. I have continued to feel close to her and to occasionally feel her protection. In particular, she left me with the serenity prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

many blessings, b

The only thing I'd like to point out is that only a very small percentage of deceased people need to be retrieved.

The vast majority of people do not get "stuck" when they die.

This is something that Bruce has stressed many times.

Greetings,

and Welcome, Etom  Smiley

Your visit from your grandmother seems like a gift from her and also serves to show you how sensitive you already are to spirit. Now that she's helped clear some fears from you, you may find yourself receiving more messages from the other side.

Not all visits from the other side are 'hauntings.' No one threw things at you with an intent to hurt you.  Smiley What you saw were symbols or visual metaphors for what was happening (described above by recoverer, spooky, etc). Until you've tuned into the spiritual enough to clear your other senses, the visual symbols may be their best means of communication.--congratulations on being so perceptive!

Like Rondele said, most folks don't need retrieving.  A lot hang around for a little or a lot of time, and are sociable.

But the scary part of what you're talking about doesn't sound like grandma to me...it sounds like a reaction on your part, maybe, as someone said, a release of fear or tension, or a moving on to a new, scary understanding - but unlikely that grandma did it.

They often have to work with symbols and metaphor, so what comes through can sometimes end up a little freaky, if our minds interpret it that way - say the symbol is teddy bear, and your mind gets grizzly... Smiley

Etom-

I agree with Cricket, I highly doubt Grandma had anything to do with what you experienced.

My advice is to try to forget....as much as you can...the scary stuff and just trust that, when the time is right, you'll get confirmation that Grandma is ok.

The thing about afterlife contact is that the more we try for it, the less we are successful OR the more likely we are to have either unpleasant or unsatisfactory experiences.

Main thing is to trust that the hidden world reveals itself on its own timetable, not ours.

Hi Etom-
Unless Grandma had gotten stuck somehow, she was not really in need of retrieval. She was more likely just hanging around you and her familiar circumstances while getting used to not being bothered by a body. This is perfectly normal - we've been doing it for millions of years!

The normal process is for her to eventually go off into the Light, from which she will always be available to you. It is possible for us to cling so hard to those whom we love that we can make a transition into the Light more difficult. That can make it more difficult to progress for both us and those to whom we are clinging, but if we simply offer love and support things generally work out comfortably.

That you would have frightening apparitions sounds like energies were being released that took forms that seemed threatening. Very often, these are symbolic, rather than literal. Usually, when we release some negative emotion that we had been sitting on for years, we recognize that its unpleasant appearance is simply an expression of our feelings. This is just the same as the sense of life and beauty we experience when we encounter a loving energy. Often we recognize these thoughts and ideas in everyday life, such as when we decide that it's too much bother to stay mad at someone, and we watch the dark shadows of our emotions dissipate. Unless they return and bother you, it would seem that everything is normal, and is just settling normally.

Wow, thanks everyone!  Your comments have very much put me at ease.

> I can't say for certain, but I get the feeling some fear based energy was released for you. Does it feel lighter within your heart chakra area.

Early on I felt pleasant currents there, but I think the lack of an emotional transformation commensurate with the power of the visuals may have been what set my mind off wondering if something was wrong!  I think you're right, rather than gaining something positive like joy, I've lost negatives instead.  Still very valuable, if slightly less fun!

> And the flowers, maybe a "thank you"?

I took them as a suggestion for the funeral and as a reassurance - if that was her number one most urgent communication, she certainly can't have been in hot water on the other side!

> you may find yourself receiving more messages from the other side.

Something communicative definitely opened up in my dreams in the week running up to this.  I've been pushing the weirdness envelope way out, talking to lions, telepathic squirrels, mushrooms, you name it!  Almost like training exercises...

> That you would have frightening apparitions sounds like energies were being released that took forms that seemed threatening. Very often, these are symbolic, rather than literal.

I'd say that fits well, as it was all very abstract.  One component of what I saw was a flailing mass of scratchy black, shrivelled stalks in the darkness, each of which individually inflated and relaxed into gentle, cloudlike, fluffy green trees hanging out of my chest as I held the cross over them.  If I push the scariness out of my head, a symbolic rejuvenation of withered, blighted aspects of a heart chakra does look pretty much the only explanation, no monsters or inexplicably altered loved ones there...

Thanks again folks!

Hi Tom,

I hope you take the opportunity to look into exploring the afterlife. Quite often a dream or communication from a deceased loved one is what starts such a journey for those left behind.

Much love,

Ginny
