For this one, I will quote my guitar teacher, one of the most spiritual guys I know. I asked him about this and he said to me that perhaps the best way to describe it is that Satan is merely separation. If you believe you are a separate being from everybody else it is easier to act out against them due to negative emotions than it would be if you saw everyone and everything connected together. If you see a divine unity and brotherhood between every living thing, it is much harder to attack or act out against someone and when you do lose it, there will be a significantly greater amount of remorse and the urge to apologize and make amends.
