Alan, some people believe that the brain doesn't really hold or store memory (though it does seem to get conditioned to certain patterns), but more so acts like a receiving-resonating/sending device.
If a human wants to be fully aware of all there is, i believe they must transcend their physicality. You do this by speeding up the vibrations of the physical body so much, that it translates back into pure Light.
I believe this process of complete transcendence of the physical, is what happened with Yeshua and how the image of the Shroud of Turin came to be formed. He "unlocked" the condensed Light within that which appears to be matter. This caused some kind of energy radiation phenomena to happen.
So, he's not limited or confined by a human brain anymore, though it would appear to us that he is still using a body, one we could touch, see, etc. if he allowed it. Complete and full access to the Universal Mind, and all that it contains.
I believe we can do this too. Meanwhile, the human brain for a person still stuck in physicality, seems to be limited in its capacity, until that zenith point is reached.
As far as the afterlife and memory and how all that works, it seems that memory is information and we become more purely aware of information and of being information in the afterlife, so the only constraints we have are according to our beliefs and to our rate of vibration. The faster the vibration, the more all inclusive the consciousness.
