Just took a vagary and decided I'd search for the world's most beautiful picture ( that's a tough one to define intellectually!) and this site which selects pictures through some sort of algorithm based voting came up. http://thefairest.info/top.html

You may enjoy the pictures which are the ones they have as 'most beautiful'. Now I'd have reservations about the possibility of any such judgement being made in anything other than a wholly subjective sense (when a tree or a piece of wood or anything can be so intensely beautiful in the right state of consciousness) but the thought that struck me when looking at them was that almost without exception they contain intense usually streaming light effects.

We really do have a liking for light, don't we??

At  'the fairest' site, did you notice also that effects of human activity were rarely shown? Just the Light from above, and nature below, looking as though it had just been created.  Beautiful!

Nice, aren't they. I've heard it said Blink that almost all human artefacts at our current state of consciousness tend to come from the left or thinking intellectual part of the brain rather than from the heart or creative side - with the result that most things are pretty ugly.

Architecture certainly seems now to be so wholly driven by financial considerations that we almost never get past glass boxes....
